Chickie's and Pete's... Overrated?

That's good to hear. I do not mind walking and am certainly not lazy, but a sit-down restaurant without bathrooms is ridiculous, especially one that serves alcohol. I am glad this has been remedied.

Don't get Lisa's Blonde Lobster Pie. It was so salty, it wasn't even edible... and I love salty foods.

The Crabfries were pretty legit though.

Of all the complaints about C&Ps on here, Has anyone pointed out the bad food to their server or manager?

And if yes, how was it dealt with?

Our food was not bad, just nothing special. For all the hype and the big deal made about "Chikie's and Pete's" it just doesn't live up to the #1 sports bar in america hype - in my opinion.

The cheesesteak was HUGE, I could not finish it, but it just wasn't great - I'd say average but definitely not something I would complain about.

The crab fries there are supposed to be spectacular, best ever, took 15 years to perfect the seasoning etc... Their fries are decent, they aren't bad, however if I am going to get an order of fries at CP I want the fresh cut ones. A great order of fries, would be Chickie's and Pete's cheese sauce on top of the Cedar Point fresh made fries... my cholesterol is up just thinking about that!

^Exactly..Best part of C&P is that sauce, good beer selection, better than a burger from Rockets/SR Refreshments/etc. but isn't really that awesome..good..but not awesome, I did expect better.

I was beginning to wonder if the bathrooms were closed due to interior wall clearing from inside of Pirate Ride. I could be wrong since I only went to Game Day Grill once and have yet to go to Chickie's and Pete's, but I thought one of the bathrooms shared the same wall as Pirate Ride. But truthfully, it could very well had just been renovating the bathrooms.

The restrooms in C&P have been reopened. I was there last night.

I also had the worst service ever there, which is saying something considering the service is mediocre there, at best, and bad more often than not. Went around 6:30pm. I was there with 2 others and they went to use the restrooms (on the Midway, since we thought the restrooms were still closed inside C&P), so I went ahead to see how busy it was, and to get a table. I was seated right away, and I did tell them that I was expecting 2 others that would be there in a few minutes. The server came by about 5 minutes after I was seated, and I let him know that I was waiting on 2 others, who should be there in a few minutes, to which he replied that he would be back in a few minutes then. Fair enough. They arrived a few minutes later (about 2 minutes from when he stopped by, so this put us at about 6:40pm - I remember looking at my phone as they sat down. We waited until 7:07pm (thanks phone) and the server never came back, nor did any other staff come over. They were not busy. He did not have a lot of tables. I tried to flag him down, but I didnt want to interrupt while he was taking care of other customers, and he was in the back the rest of the time doing other things (or whatever). I asked the host if she could get our server, since he hadn't been back. She went to get him, and I saw her talking to him and pointing us out. He then proceeded to go back and forth from the kitchen for another 10 minutes, never once coming over to our table, and I saw him look over at us more than once. We walked out and ordered nothing.

We will not be going back. I've waited tables. This guy sucked. If I knew his name, I'd mention it, but he never came back, so I never saw his name tag.

Wow, that's terrible. The food isn't worth it anyways. You would be better off at Friday's or Dave's.

I was happy getting my chicken fingers basket from the Dragon's Inn or whatever over by Iron Dragon. It was delish. And I didnt have to wait. :)

^CPboy77...TGIF isn't any better, other than a bathroom. My recent visit there, I discovered they don't accept 'corporate' coupons.I asked(our server) about bottle beer selections. I decided, and was then told-"So a 22oz draft is ok ?" NOOO, I ordered a bottle beer-then she had to ask if they had bottled beer. Well yes you do, I had one last weekend. Underpaid, and under trained employees=bad service. The tip keeps getting smaller. i plan on trying Daves 8/6.

If the server is underpaid and under-trained, neither of which is controlled by the server, why punish the server with a smaller tip? Did you address your concerns with management?

I have been to TGiF at least 5 or 6 times this year. Food and service has always been good, only time we had any issue is when they were very busy we had to wait a while for our food.

Most chain restaraunts I have been to at places like cedar point do not participate in corporate specials. Fridays has a sign right at check in to warn of that. Of course the food there is way more expensive than any other Fridays but ya gotta expect that at an amusement/theme park.

I've been very pleased with service at Friday's and Famous Dave's. You can, of course, receive subpar service at any restaurant occasionally. At Friday's I've only sat at the bar, so I can't comment on how the tables are served. Overall, I have no complaints with the service I received and with the Platinum Pass discount, the price is not that out of line with a regular location.

Wow... I feel pretty intelligent right now, I never knew or tried to get the Platinum discount there... Are you telling me we get the discount at Friday's?

^noggin..yes I spoke with corporate office, as the manager(s) of that location were never available. Yes, being under paid isn't the employees choice or desire. But the training also means they must chooser to listen. It wasn't busy, even at dinner-time on a Saturday. The server still got her 15%, as it was only a $45 dollar check. But it had potential to be 25%-I'm a good tipper. And Pete-how did you get a plat pass discount there? That was also refused because "We are separate from the park", and don't offer/accept discounts, just like at Dippen Dots.

I don't understand how the service there could still be that big a pile of suck this late in the season. That strikes me as odd for a park that is otherwise run very well.

The discount works at Friday's, Perkins and Famous Dave's, I don't know about Chickie's and Pete's. I have a marina platinum pass, maybe that has something to do with it because there was always a discount for marina people at the out of park restaurants. But, I think all platinum passes get the discount this year.

Thanks for the info. We have eaten at TGiF, Famous Daves, Perkins etc... several times and since they were outside of the park I never even tried for the discount. Perhaps it is due to the fact that you have a marina pass but I'll try next time we are at one of those restaurants.

Yes, I'll try getting the 10% discount at Famous Dave's this Wednesday. The worst that could happen is be told no. I just want to try something different to celebrate my daughters birthday while at the park. Thanks for the info!

Platinum Pass discount has worked at Bay Harbor and TGIF for me
