From everything I've heard about Oiumet, he understands the value of front line employees. I really do expect that CP will invest in employee housing in the future.
Also, as far as maintenance, I hope some money is budgeted for things like replacement of light bulbs and other cosmetic things. CP, I feel, is top notch in maintenance items that affect operations or safety. They have the right tradeoff in where costs are cut. I hope that under Oiumet, things that are cosmetic can be budgeted for.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
^^Just to be "politically correct", Arrow technically doesn't exist anymore and S&S now has the patent for the 4th dimension coaster. Both Intamin and B&M have similar designs to the 4D trains but the seats do not spin in their versions. Intamin has only made one "wing rider" while B&M has 4 (3 opening in 2012). However, B&M was said to have another "new" design in the works so we shall see if CP will be the one to get the first of it's kind.
-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut
I truly doubt we would get a zacspin. There is no capacity to the ride at all. The only advantage is it's small footprint compared to most other coasters. Adam is right, it is actually somewhat good...I don't prefer them but they do get the job done. It's somewhat like Maxair where no two rides are perfectly alike.
If the coaster we are apparently getting that is going over in that area is indeed true, my only problems with a coaster over near cad cars/raptor area is how the two coasters would interact. If we were to get a coaster there I would have to say a B&M just for the simple fact that from looking at it, B&M supports are placed perfectly and without true interference or take up much room (see Iron Dragon/mantis area. Plus if it goes there, having two B&M's screaming beside eachother...that would be incredible :)...On the flip side however, Intamin using their double spine track however, very few supports are needed. That is however the double spine track is used in this build. So the support theory could be debunked here. Also the park somewhat has focused most coasters in area 2 and 3, only having a handful in the front. Seeing a new coaster dominate the front of the park's skyline would be quite impressive.
Lets just see what this year brings...I'm sure people will be on the hunt for new construction markings, stakes, and shipments arriving to the area starting day 1 or sooner on tours.
I would much prefer a B&M but there's one problem I have with a B&M coaster coming to the point. The problem is cloning. B&M clones their coasters all the time. Nearly all of them of the same kind are very similar. If CP was to get a B&M, they would really have to make it special in some way to set it apart from other B&Ms.
The reason all the Intamins have been amazing is because there's really no others alike. I've never seen or heard of a coaster like Maverick. Maybe Fahrenheit but that's it. There's only one other coaster like Dragster and it's not nearly as good and it's more of a mechanical nightmare than TDD. There coasters similar to WT but it's the only one with 2 spiraling spikes and it's the tallest. With Millenium, it took 10 years to make a coaster similar and I've heard it isn't as great.
What I'm saying is, all Intamins are different and stand out. With B&M, I personally feel if you've been on one invert, you've been on them all. Same with their stand up.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!
Lol Kingda Ka is the only mechanical nightmare? Dragster has more downtime than uptime, days where it accumulates 0 riders, and has many mechanical problems still to this day years after opening. Also...notice how much downtime a B&M at CP has versus any other Intamin...Lastly there's safety in my opinion...B&M's have alot better track record than Intamin.
Also saying they are all alike. Yes they have the same elements & whatnot sure. There are minute differences. But you have to remember it's made by a firm that is very slow to develop and very keen on what they do. Looking at a B&M over Intamin, B&M does what they know is right and works. Intamin may have alot of new ideas and advancements, but look at the costs of getting a new ride. Even though it's not related to, but look at Windseeker...Prototypes and new advancements have quite alot of problems compared to something that's tried and true. Hell it's taken this long for B&M to come out with a giga, and I believe it's ganna stomp down just about any other Intamin in the same class out there for quite awhile.
