Didn't Maverick cost $21m? If so, $25m would probably pay for a similar sized coaster. (Remember, 4 years of recession and an end to coaster wars have probably limited inflation in new coaster costs.)
JMO, but if they take out the Disaster Transport Building, in that part of the park (which has an "old time" Art Deco-ish look on the games arcade) I would vote for a more family oriented boardwalk type theming and a GCI replica of the Cyclone--with an Art Deco Coaster House. ( Think Lakeside Park in Denver) That would go great next to the existing arcade building and the Giant Wheel. Much better, IMO, than a steel coaster in that part of the park.

^^Most of the rumors I've heard is that the track is either for Cedar Point or Six Flags Great Adventure.
Id say Magic Mountain since they have already started clearing land for their 2013 project or else a park overseas. With the track coming from Ohio, I feel production of it for Cedar Point is a bit early. It only has a 3 hour drive to the park, not a week long journey on a cargo ship.
Its pretty much been announced that it'll be a launched roller coaster at Magic Mountain and that it won't be by B&M, most likely Premier Rides. Besides, IMO, they have enough B&Ms there.

I though Great Adventure was getting a drop ride like Lex Luther at SFMM for 2013. I had heard that going around.

Imagine your favorite tv show. You've been through it all. The ups, the downs, the crazy coincidences and then bang! They tell you what it's all about. Would you be happy? Does it make sense? How come it all ended in a church? - Joker
Screamscape reported that their were rumors that they would build one on Kingda Ka, but this depends on your opinions of screamscape
Assuming that whatever is coming for 2013 will be occupying the Disaster Transport/beach area, I'd much rather see a medium sized wood coaster in that area than steel. A wood coaster on/next to the beach just feels like a perfect fit.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
What about Big Dipper from Geauga Lake heading over that way by the beach and a steel coaster somewhere else? Both should fit under the 25m mark.
Well there finally removing Raging Wolf Bobs so maybe we'll find out about the Big Dipper soon. Every time I go I just get sad watching it sit there rotting away with no love.

How would they market Big Dipper? No one would care except for a handful of enthusiasts, I think a new wood coaster by the beach would be fine, but it needs to be something new and special, not a 100 year old ride that is average at best.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I understand the nostalgia for Big Dipper, but I never cared for it, before or after Six Flags. It was a mediocre ride at best.

False. 80% of Raging Wolf Bobs is still standing. The other 20% had caved in by natures course.
I have heard quite a bit about a boardwalk idea back by dt. Think about every time you think of a classic boardwalk there is a great old woody. It would be very close to where cyclone was. I think it would be great and would get great publicity for the new management . The media would be all over it for a very cheep price tag.

I would also have to claim at least 1% of it is in my back yard as a playhouse for my kids. But a great deal of it is still up at the old park.

You must be thinking of The Villain, the majority of Bobs is still there but it's in the process of being removed now.

Any idea of what the fate will be for the Big Dipper or is the secret owner being hush hush about it?

It's Cedar Point, there not going to put in a coaster you can find down the street.
Why not? They've done it several times already.
There's a Wing Coaster in Illinois and Tennessee.
And there are hyper coasters, giga coasters, standup coasters, inverted coasters, mine train coasters, launched coasters, racing coasters and wooden coasters all over the place. And yet people still, for some strange reason, show up at CP every year. It's almost as if uniqueness isn't a priority for CP's guests.
As for your assertion that 4D's are the most popular thing evar, see Jeff's comment regarding capacity. Long lines do not necessarily indicate popularity. Magnum is (or was, when CP still published the numbers) regularly among the annual leaders in terms of ridership, yet the line is rarely as long as the less popular Mantis.
