Cedar Point's Next Coaster: Do You Think It Would More Likely Be An Intamin Or a B&M?

I would Honestly think they might settle for a coaster that they have never tried having before, therefore, I think the next coaster could possibly be a B&M ride. I would love to see them branch from the regular old speed machines, and hyper and giga coasters, and try something new for once, such as a B&M flying or diving coaster. This is just striclty my opinion, but i for one would love to see a small change. But by all means, try to set a new speed record!! ;)

Honestly, I think the park would be doing a favor if they finallly got rid of that ride!! xD Hardly nobodyy rides it, and it would free up much space for a ride that everyone would kill to ride!! *the Wildcat, that is...

Moving the rest of housing off point frees up land where Cedars sits. That doesn't mean that land has to be used for future attraction expansion. They could use it to move something like the Merchandise warehouse/parking lot that is actually inside the park.

Either location (the site of Cedars or the site of the warehouse) could be a good spot for a dark ride building as well.

I think the only perfect fit B&M coaster we would get is a 4th Dimension. Cedar Point has nothing like it and there's NONE anywhere close to Cedar Point. A flying wouldn't be all that exciting because many people have been on them at Geauga Lake. I just think that if Cedar Point really wants to make a big splash and make this coaster special, it has to be a 4th Dimension. It's the only way to go.

Also, a coaster is very loud and the Cedars is very close to the marina. The boaters pay Cedar Point a lot of money for the marina and I expect they would be up on ends if a coaster was built within 200 feet of their dock.

Not caring how the boaters might feel with a coaster being built 100 feet from their dock is poor business. Have you seen the rates to keep a boat at Cedar Point? They make enough money from the boaters to consider them in planning a coaster that might be to close or loud to the docks.

I'm pretty sure "tranquil" hasn't been among the selling points of the CP Marina for many years.

Furthermore, as I understand it (and as the prices indicate), the park doesn't have a problem selling docks. If there are a few customers who would be put off by the noise enough to vacate, I'm sure it wouldn't take long for those customers to be replaced.

I'm not sure why there's an assumption that any coaster, even a B&M would be that loud anyway. The rides with the sand-filled spines are nearly silent, aside from whatever screaming the riders are doing. They don't have to be deafening like Raptor and Mantis.

Maverick00, the 4th Dimension Coaster is an Arrow design, now sold by S&S. B&M had nothing to do with it.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

^But the rumor is B&M's wingcoasters are the begining of their 4D design.

B&M could always build a 4th dimension. That's what Im saying, a 4th dimension would be unique from B&M and something we've never seen before.

Intamin has done it too so I don't see why B&M couldn't.

As much as I would LOVE a 4th dimension coaster at the Point, we would hear so much crap from the Six Flags lovers about how we copied them now. Not that I care, but I'm just sharing my thoughts while reading this thread.

What I think would REALLY free up a lot of space is if they made parking off point, and had a tram, monorail, or ferry system to get the guests over to the park. Just saying

Like they did with Kingda Ka? At least TTD doesn't have OTSR. They'll always be second fiddle.

That to me will always be the difference OTSR would ruion TTD that half the fun and exitement you feel like there is nothing holding you in. I remember being so upset about Kingda Ka till I saw pictures of the seats.

Plus the fact that Kingda Ka seems to have so much movement/shaking on the launch. That mixed with the OTSR makes Dragster far superior in my opinion.

Not to take Kingda Ka's side, but I can really notice the speed, height, and drop difference between the two. It seems like you are being launched into outerspace on KK.

But I agree TTD dominates it because KK has OTRS.

Really? I heard the differences in speed and height can't be noticed at all.

I have ridden TTD 28 times and KK just twice about 5 years ago... From what I remember, I did notice the difference... I am heading back to GA this summer so we will see if I notice it this time... That's if it is operating! HAHA

Maverick00's avatar

Thats another thing, KK is almost always not operating. Way worse than TTD.

Meh. If Intamin rocket coasters were so great, someone else would have bought one in the last 7 years.

You guys know what you didn't bring up about Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster? When you ride Kingda Ka, all you see is a parking lot when you get to the top. When you ride Top Thrill Dragster, you see a beautiful landscape of Cedar Point. This also makes Top Thrill Dragster a better roller coaster!

As far as the B&M debate goes, I would love to see a B&M Floorless. It seems like less of these are being built which is odd because they are fun! As far as the noise, I doubt that a Floorless would make too much noise compared to Mantis. You can hear Mantis from Millennium Force while waiting in line.
