Cedar Point's Next Coaster: Do You Think It Would More Likely Be An Intamin Or a B&M?

Maverick00's avatar

I'm loving all these rumors pouring into Screamscape. I know a lot or some are rumors but it deffently makes you think. I'm not too thrilled about two green B&M coasters right at the front of the park so maybe the screamscape rumor in frontiertown is true.

Thanks, Screamscape, we're back to the two coasters in one year conversation again. Sometimes I think he'll put up there anything he hears, even if he doesn't know the source. It sounds like he pulls this stuff from the forums sometimes.

Eat 'em up, Tigers, eat 'em up!

I don't think its too hard to believe that they would add two coasters in one year if one is a kiddie coaster.

Easier to believe, yes, but I wouldn't bet any money on, that's for sure.

Question... Does Dueling Dragons at Universal count as 1 coaster or 2... Do you think CP would ever have a dueling coaster such as that. I'm not saying it will be inverted, but a dueling wing rider? That would be crazy!!!

But they already have a dueling coaster. Do they need two?

But why would they install another kiddie coaster? They already have two, the cost to build a third would be better spent on something else.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I was checking out CoasterBuzz to see if anyone had info on the new track and found this topic from 2009 that links to the same pictures at Screamscape: http://coasterbuzz.com/Forums/Thread/55205.aspx

I'm admittedly not a frequenter of CoasterBuzz or Screamscape, so is it possible that when that link was posted on CoasterBuzz, the pictures on the Screamscape page were of different track, and they just reused the URL or something for the green track we're seeing now? Is it even possible to do such a thing? The CB post states the track in the pictures is "sunburst yellow" so that indicates Screamscape might have changed the photos associated with the link.

Or, is it a possibility that Screamscape is reusing a picture from 2009 and pulling the wool over our eyes?

Screamscape just reuses the link for any pictures they have regarding B&M track found at the plant. Can be quite annoying if you are trying to find an old picture. :P The pictures that the original CB post was about was for mystery yellow B&M track that ended up being Hair Raiser at Ocean Park in China.

Because Cedar Point needs kid stuff. I think a Flying Ace Aerial Chase at like Kings Island and Carowinds would be perfect. It would fill a good gap.

Urban Dictionary quading and you'll see that's clearly not what I meant!

Ha! I certainly learned something new...

Honestly I didn't know if that was a real word or if you made it up as a joke so I googled it and wish I could unlearn what I have learned!

No, Cedar Point has TONS of kids stuff. What they need are more family attractions that entertain young and old alike. Not stuff where parents stand by to watch their kids ride, but stuff that gives adults as much enjoyment as the kids as everyone rides together. Woodstock is an excellent kids coaster while Jr. Gemini is perfect for toddlers. I don't see the need for another kiddie coaster when something more innovative can be built.

2 kiddie coasters? I thought they had more than that. Isn't there another blue one? I can't remember the name...something Force?

On site today; Turnpike Cars tracks have been dug up (about 1/2 of the course, but the excavator is still on site), and a make-shift fence has been erected separating the Calypso area from the Turnpike entrance.

Definitely looks like more than normal maintenance.

I think it's time to officially start a 2013 project thread. Folks, construction has started on our 2013 coaster. Ok maybe I'm a bit excited but only coaster construction begins this early.

Do you have any pictures Kevin?

Let's just say picture-taking would be frowned upon.

I'll try to be as detailed as possible; no flags, etc...but lots of white & red markings on the concrete all around the concrete up to about 15 feet or so from Blue Streak and getting close to Raptor. Calypso is still there...the "ride" is gutted but that's possibly just winter maintenance (it always gets gutted)...The roof of TP cars' entrance is gone...poles still up...and where there was track is now a dirt path leading near the theater. The "overpass" was still in place, but the road signs are all gone. The back 50% of the course (approx) leading back into the station is still there.
