Sort of. You were just stating what you would like to see added to the park in the future. I was stating what ride the park will add next year. There is a difference:)

I can't even think about standing in line for a low capacity ride like that. The only thing that seems logical to me is dar ride like Dark Kastle at Busch Gardens, or a GCI like Prowler. I'll be content with both.

I say its going to be a Year Round Haunted House, with only one room and a old guy sitting in a chair saying "Boo"

Whats even better is that everyday you don't know what he will be wearing... could be normal clothes, a clown suit, or nothing at all... That will sure be thrilling for some...

I expect a moving of Wicked Twister to the Demon Drop site, demolition of Disaster Transport, and the selling of chaos. Now what will go in this new spot? Well that is up to you to decide. ;)

Their largest model is only 100pph less than Wildcat. If the park were to have Intamin build a model that could get 200 more than the current models, then capacity would be fine.

I hate to invoke the old argument, "Cedar Point wouldn't xxxx, because Magic Mountain did yyyy," but I will this one time. I find it unlikely that CP will remove Disaster, since that would forfeit the roller coaster crown to SFMM. Even if they immediately replaced it with another coaster, this would still leave them in a tie at 17, which SFMM could then easily pass by putting up a Dragon Wagon.

Now, before y'all get out your flamethrowers, let me clarify. I don't think Cedar Point shouldn't do such a thing out of fear what SFMM might do in response. I'm saying that it's quite likely they won't. This is, after all, Dick Kinzel we're talking about here. The man is nothing if not vain about his park and all its various records. There's a reason King Dominion's new ride is called I-305 and not I-311.

Personally, I think this kind of thinking is absurd. But then again, I'm not the one running the park....er, I mean, chain.

^^ Considering the fact that DT still gets quite a line on a regular basis, plus the fact the park probably spent a fair amount of money to put an awesome new haunted house inside of it last year, I don't see it going anywhere in the immediate future.

Personally, I'd love to see something better placed in DT's location, but I don't expect it to happen anytime soon. I'd bet that whatever the park gets for 2011 will more or less fit within the existing confines of the DD area.

I'm still hoping that that the building between DD and DT is no longer necessary because of the new office building they built a year or 2 ago and the new storage building by STR. That would free up plenty of space. My gut says GCI, but that Zacspin looks fun too.

Though I have yet to ride one, I'd like Cedar Point to put in a GCII woodie. The most recent wood coaster there was built almost 20 years ago, and you can tell it's getting pretty old and rough.

Another idea is that if there is ever going to be one, Cedar Point is the place to unveil the world's first 500-footer. Then again, with the financial... trough ("crisis" is a little harsh) Cedar Fair is in right now, a coaster with that much steel would be enormously expensive.

As long as they don't put too much hype on it and then let us down like they did with Shoot the Rapids (don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that ride is bad. I plan on riding it during CoasterMania! and I'm sure it will be great), I don't care too much what it is. What I mean by too much hype is that last year before we found out what the new ride for 2010 was, a lot of people were under the impression it was a new coaster. Personally, I thought it was going to be something never done before: I thought it was going to be a GCII/Intamin joint venture to create either 1) a wooden coaster with an inversion element such as a cobra roll, or 2) the world's first 300-foot wooden coaster.

So, there's my two cents. I'm sure there's going to be much more speculation on the ride for 2011. Have fun with it!

Ha, he's kidding. The Lemon Chill guy is a good old joke we use when discussing new rides. Those people have 0 credibility.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Ball Coaster, a LSM version of the Zac Spin with higher capacity. The 25/211 model has a capacity of 960pph, not too bad. Look here

It is a prefabricated coaster that they just hall in and set up instead of building the entire thing on site.

^Ok well either that or a Zacspin. I still don't see a big enough difference to have a separate category for each.

It's Intamin's take on the wooden coaster. They use prefabricated track sections made of wood veneer.

Son of Beast is all the evidence you need to see that neither of those will happen. You might be able to do 300 with a hybrid (ala Voyage) but don't expect to see anyone attempt an inversion (much less a cobra roll) any time soon after watching SoB self destruct and injure riders at the same time.

And the only people disappointed by StR were the ones not paying attention to all the signs prior to its announcement.

would love some 3-D interactive dark, thrill ride like "Revenge of the Mummy", etc. that would incorporate Lake Erie history and legends somehow.
