I am dissapointed that Cedarfair would just take the easy way out and copycat one ride and spread it out to their other parks. But maybe they have something big up their sleeves for 2012.
You mean like Power Tower or SkyHawk/Screamin Swing or maXair/Giant Frisbee or Scrambler?

Nice addition to the parks, cheap, looks like it will have almost a zero mantinance budget. Hopefully it will bring people back to that part of the park. But what really bothers me is the total lack of creativity, same colors and a generic names. Its one thing that its named after the same thing at Knotts and Canada but the Kings Island and Cedar Point should be a little different atleast in color scheme and name.
I coulden't help but laugh at the amount of screaming in the animation. Once the thing gets to the top, are people really going to be screaming that much while diddling around in a circle?
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
We pretty much knew what the new ride would be before the official announcement. So I'm not surprised. I am disapointed that it's the same name and same height as the others. I figured the one at CP would be taller.
I too would like to see some renderings of how things will be treated at ground level, especially the the entrance to the park.
So far I haven't haven't seen any annoncement on the CP site. Kings Island has it on theres along with pictures and video.

I have a few friends that would do it just for the heck of it. :)
I personally think it looks like an awesome ride and what we see in the animation might not be the final paint scheme for the ride as the animator needed to create four of these animations. You can see that the same camera routes and shots were used and only the park areas changed. It is possible that a generic model was used and only the Knotts model had the "K" put on top to let people know that the "K" was not going away.

KI's will be near Vortex's ride exit. Sounds like it might go where Flight Commander was? I'm not sure I feel so great about that.
Why not? This ride won't be built by Intamin...

I'll ride this one, since it's got arms instead of chains. It's no biggie to me.
Interesting.
The way it appears to be configured, the suspension arm will be behind you. So as you sit there, you will be out in the open, totally exposed, with nothing above, below, or next to you.
On the Funtime version, there are six chains, one on each corner of each seat, holding the ride aloft.
I hope the lap bar survives. I'd like to see the seat become smaller, more flimsy looking, less encapsulating. :)

Maybe we'll get knew renderings as time goes on...or we'll have to wait until construction is complete!
I'll go with the latter.
Besides, I wouldn't count on the renderings to truly show what the area will end up looking like. Give the ride 5 years and then see how well foliage has filled in.

I am a little disappointed that Ocean Motion isn't being moved. I would have loved to see it in another area of the park. Oh well.
