TwistedWicker77, let it go. Nobody here is picking arguments anymore but you. Nobody is bringing up Ohio law again but you.
Also, notice, only two people have actually posted on topic in as many days, so maybe it's not all that interesting or discussion worthy anyway. You didn't open the topic, nor have you contributed to the subject with anything meaningful yourself, yet you keep begging us to continue. It looks to me like everyone is past it (I am) and your continuous scolding is only serving to keep the rotten stuff on top.
There has been no discussion about the actual subject because it was hijacked as soon as the topic started. As for calling people out for not contributing to the topic all I have to say is, pot meet kettle.
I am very curious to see how the ceremony and exclusive ride time work together and if your ceremony time would have to change if you picked a ride that is open for early entry.
You have 2-hours in the park, 8-10am.
You fill the 100 chairs with guests.
You have 12 tickets to use. How are they going to make sure your other 88 guests leave the park by 10am?
Just wondering.

Dunno why this forum has an issue with respecting wishes of another member. Other forums I participate in, many members help moderate/self moderate.
Why are one forum member's wishes more relevant than another's? It's been noted that you don't want the discussion to go in a particular direction. Others don't agree. Democracy can be self-moderating too.

Well, if it's the beach package, that's quite easy... you're not actually in the park.
As for the Frontiertown Gazebo/Coaster Platform weddings, that's a good question.

I would think either admission is factored into the package cost, or guests will have to purchase tickets.

My only thing is 500 for pictures in public areas..I don't get that. Why not just pay admission and cost of a photographer, kinda sketchy there. If I paid 500 I better be able to stand under a lift hill or low zone, etc.
The 4500 cost, well you need to think, extra pay for employees running the ride, etc. Then the cost of running the ride as well is probably projected upon you, almost like buying the park out like some corporations have done in the past.
I see some issues and some small gripes with it, but I'm sure that'll be addressed and ammended as time goes and people start using these packages.
Also for the pictures, if you could do it off season. Some nice winter pictures in the park, that'd be nifty for someones senior pics or whatever ya know.

Considering the photo opportunities, that doesn't seem unreasonably high, even considering you're paying for the location only, and the photographer isn't included.
As for doing it DIY-style, I can't imagine the park would be OK with you and 20 of your family and friends running around the park with a professional photographer.

Considering the cost of an "Average" wedding nowadays I think the in park wedding has a built in price limiter. Once the $4500 is paid - plus the cost of a park catered meal and admission for the 100% of the guests - I bet you are still way under the $30-50k many people spend on weddings.
A bargain in my book as well as something unique.
If any pointbuzzers do this - I would love an invite. I promise to bring an awesome gift!

We both favored Butter Pecan. And we made plans while waiting for Blue Streak to go to Mammoth Cave the next month, a place we both love as much as roller coasters. The rest is history. ;')
OOOOO Butter Pecan is the best! I'm still trying to find a place inside the park that sells Caramel Cashew (my favorite). That's amazing you two have so much history at the park. If only I could have had the chance to experience the park that long ago, the nostalgia would be 10 times more than what it is.
I think the price of $500 is pretty high just to have engagement pictures taken (since I would like a couple taken at the park). I mean I wouldn't need 20 of my friends and family with us since they would be for engagement pictures. Especially with the price we're paying for our photographer (and since he is a family friend), taking a few engagement pictures at the park without paying $500 seems more ideal to me. However, graduation photos would be awesome for high school students.
I believe the $500 for the photo session included a park escort for you and your photographer. Maybe that means you can get to (safe) areas normally off limits or directly onto ride platforms. The escort might also help with crowd control to keep people from getting between you and your photographer. All things you could not do without the package. The high price could be in part to limit the number of packages sold as any crowd control and direct platform access affects other guests in the park.

They're not going to allow you into any backstage or infield areas, as they explicitly mention "public areas".
As far as ride stations and the like:
Photography may not interfere with normal park operations.

The park seems to be ok with a load of family members running around the park with amateur photographers. Just look at all the family reunion shirt mobs.
My thing was that for 500 bucks it's a bit steep for what you get. That 500 doesn't cost admission for whoever is in the picture, the photographer's admission, and the price of said photographer. To only be in public areas (Midways basically) is pretty steep. If I were interested in this, that's just..wow. Now if you could do off hours in say a ride low zone, empty wavepool at night, etc that's I guess worth the money. Other than employees, noone else will have those shots except for tours, and I don't see people getting married during an off season tour (no ideas please folks :P)
Now, my other thing was they included graduation pics in this. That's one person..no admission and photographer, again..That's a bit steep IMO for one person getting shots, and maybe family or a friend along with you.
Last issue with the first package is I'm guessing this is only during the season. I have to say some off season events for this would be great. Think of nice cool winter shots for those wanting a winter wedding (WHY btw? :P). I could see some great shots from a winter photography session, and that to me is a little more worth your money.
Other packages to me seem a bit better priced. I mean even though you only get 12 admission tickets (600 bucks mind you), but for 4500 you get a ceremony, on ride photos, admission for 12, and an hour of ERT. Think if the wedding had say, 100 people as advertised in it for Millie. That ride moves 1600 people in an hour at theoretical. Lets be safe and say 1300, just to be safe. That's a whole hour of marathoning basically. You could get 10+ rides, no problem whatsoever. So in reality besides the ceremony you're paying the cost to open a ride an hour early and have special access in the park and admission costs. Not a bad deal.

I wasn't so much thinking backstage areas as those are typically ugly. I was more thinking the balconies on the main midway, the show stages, in lanscaped areas. Places that would bring down the wrath of security if you were to go on your own.
The sky ride and the ferriswheel would provide unique photo opps while on the ride. The midway carousel, cedar downs and many other flats would be fun photo ops that could be used during the loading time period with minimal affect on ride operation then the photographer could take photos from outside the ride during the ride cycle.

At my time there I've seen professional photographers. I've seen the tripod, DSLR, flash thingy, all that for a picture of a youth group or whatever the hell they were. It's not common, but it's already been around.

I wouldn't pay that price either, but it's probably priced correctly. The park is a very unique place for photographs, which is enough justification itself. On top of that, it's also probably priced that high because the park doesn't want to be accommodating hundreds of photo shoots every season.
Brandon
Now that I can understand, it def is a deterrent except to those who want those pictures for certain. However it surprises me the park doesn't supply anything other than, hey we'll escort you around for photos for 500, that's it. However, pay your own parking, admission, and photographer, etc. That's pretty steep just for a venue.
I've been to photo shoots for stuff before using venues and they asked for 50-100 bucks or so, but bring your own photographer and whatnot, it's pretty reasonable. For more than the price of a VIP pass for the day in the park, I'd expect some more perks other than an escorted guide taking you and your wedding party or senior picture group around.
Like I said, this is the first time it's being done, things may change, we shall see.
