"Cedar Point is building for the future!"

Where is this area 51?

I said it in m TR from a month ago that there were many piles of dirt under the first island turn. Area 51 is the fenced off area containing footers where dogem used to be (next to Magnum queue).

My friend and I were snooping around Area 51 today, looking for any clues we could possibly find. Walking around the back of the fence (along the lagoon), we did notice a dashed orange line painted on the cement we were walking on, along with a few blue and green dots that could form a pattern. I know the chances of this being actually relevant are small, but it is something to consider I guess...

When we were at CP last Friday, I was talking to an employee in the area near Magnum. He said employees are forbidden to discuss what's being built. HOWEVER ; ) he has heard rumors (unofficial, of course) that it's an S&S ride, a thrust, and over 400 feet.

You do realize that many in the park have considered painting lines or putting down little flags just to see if someone would notice and post here, right?

It would be one of funniest things that could happen. Especially if one of the maintenance people had some extra time and put a bunch of flags or wooden stakes on Millennium Island.

For God sakes people its June! The announcement will come soon enough if you just go on with your lives. I'm sure whatever Cedar Point builds it will be a dissapointment to some people on this site anyways. Like its been discussed here before, the site could be anything, a restaurant, a ride, a Jeff Putz statue (not sure about that one), etc. Enjoy your season at CP, enjoy all the great rides it has and move on. Please.......

Ya, but for some people on this site it can't come soon enough!

I can wait, Just hope its a good ride/place to eat or whatever its going to be.

I talked to an off dutty imploye recently. It was at Timbers fest. I asked her what was going on in the fenced area and she said she couldn't say but that she knew alot. She was also a member of ace. The man be hind me asked what we were talking about and I told him about the fenced area with the signs. Then she said "there are also footers for a ride." I asked her if the ride would be for next year and she said yes. Finnaly later in the conversation she told that the management is worried about wicked twister being unsafe because it shake to much. Then she said in the next two years two coasters will be added. One of which she said will be wooden. I asked her if the wooden coaster. The wood coaster is the second coaster. She said the first one would be a steel coaster, which she said management is saying would be more popular than millenium force and Raptor and over 400 ft. WHen asked if that would go on millenium island she wouldn't say, but would say that if pattle wheel excursion doesn't pull it's wait its gone. So we now know for sure that There will be at least one coaster next year, and maybe two but if not the wooden coaster will be added for 2004. Befor I told her about the track spotted at Breakers Express she said to wach Xcellerator at Knotts. So Expect a Humongus version of Xcellerator next year and hopefully a wood coaster next year also if not it will be ther for 2004

lol-I laugh at that. How do you know it is a roller coaster? Umm....the sign says "Cedar Point is building for the future" That could be anything! It is probably some flat ride to replace the bumper cars that went over to Michigan's Adventure. Sure speculation and rummors are fun, but you can't believe everything you hear/read. They are building something, thats all we know. We also know there is S&S stuff over by the plant. These things probably have nothing related to eachother, but then again they might be our missing piece to the puzzle.

I would believe anyone from Coasterbuzz over any ACEr. The official Coasterbuzz talk is "NO ONE KNOWS!!! Enjoy the rest of the season."

Lol... I think i was the person standing behind you at Timbers Fest. :) (Kraken T-Shirt?). I would venture a guess that the empolyee we talked with was more realible then your average one.

Anyway, I swear she said it WOULDN'T be 400ft., or even taller then Magnium. Which I tend to believe anyway.
