Happy you got to ride TT2. Bummed it was down again. Hoping it will be back up tomorrow for your second lap. I'll be there next weekend with my son.
As for the spike, as I gazed at it from my seat on Power Tower I was wondering the same thoughts that Kevinj expressed. It is so shiny and pristine looks sturdy enough to my untrained eyes. Wondering if the speeding train, when entering the spike, hits it with enough force to create a wobble of the structure that is indiscernable to the naked eye but repeated wobbles potentially causing some discrepancies in the tower.
That, and the fact it sits in a recently routine maintained lagoon.
Did Zamperla also maintenance the lagoon? Or was that a separate third party?
Sit tight fellas ;) Tall boys are chilling in the bushes.
It's been working great all day today, so the elves must have fixed it last night whilst we slept.

Web cam shows TT2 running today. Hopefully the closure yesterday wasn't anything of an issue (maybe just confirming fix of a week or so ago was holding).

Big bucks to be made in that field of study. Start applying for student loans.
I have this to add after today.
And full disclaimer I have now gotten exactly two rides on TT2.
That first ride on Father's Day was amazing, as I said above.
The second ride today was amazing, with a caveat. We got row 10 (the coveted back row). Black train; incidentally the same train as yesterday.
From the moment the backwards launch kicked in, there was a mildly uncomfortable vibration...it disappeared during that amazing surge up the spike, but immediately returned once we re-entered the straightaway and got worse once the third launch kicked in. I can only describe it as mind-rattling...like a tuning fork got hit underneath us and we were along for the ride.
Maybe this is just something that happens towards the back? Maybe it was an anomaly? But it was significant enough that my wife grabbed the Advil after we got off.
Ride #1 felt nothing like this.

That is disconcerting. Similar to the vibration on GateKeeper? Though maybe worse? I can ride GK a couple times and I exit with a slight headache that goes away pretty quickly. Ride it more times than that though and it doesn't.
Was that before or after the fried pickles? LOL
That's a fair analogy, but I would say slightly worse. It was post-pickle. :)
I'm guessing this is similar to the "shakiness/shimmy" that people talked about last year (in all of its 8 days of glory)...at least to some degree?
Just interesting that the two rides we got were two very different experiences.
On the bright side from what we observed it was three-train operations all day long with no downtime.

The kids call it the ‘zwerk. Aka the Zamperla Twerk. Unfortunately the ‘zwerk still plagues this attraction. Take a few rides before your next dentist appointment if you need some fillings replaced 😶

Black train is by far the worst and sitting towards the back is definitely where you feel it the most. Personally, I do not think the shaking has gotten any worse than it was on opening weekend. I have no idea why there would be a difference in the trains but Blue and Silver do not have the shaking / vibrations that the black train has.
If you ride black, don’t sit in the back.
Once you ride black, you’ll never come back.

I wonder if the new trains being more rigid and heavier are what's attributing to the vibrations. Not sure there's much that can be done, though, besides maybe changing the road wheels in some way. But if it's not causing an actual problem to the ride itself, it may just be something we have to contend with. I've only had a small handful of rides this year so far and I would agree that it's a considerable vibration. Although, I personally don't think it's a deal breaker.

Including JUnderhill (above), I have heard from a few people who have gotten numerous rides that this seems to be isolated to the black train.
That doesn't really make a lot of sense, but each train is it's own creation, so I guess it's plausible.
I wouldn't say the vibration is a "deal breaker" to ride the ride (although hard pass on back row in that train); I think it was just so off-putting since ride #1 (blue train row 3) was smooth as glass and it was arms up all the way.

Kevin, that was my experience last year. Rode very back on the black train and it was incredibly bumpy. That's a bummer that its still the case.
Now that you posted that, I remember your post on C-Buzz, so thanks for the Gonch-back (no one here will understand that).
Going back and reading your post sums up how we felt. If that's how the back seat feels on each train every time, I would have zero-interest in doing it again. If it's just isolated to one train that's good news.

Per Cedar Point Twitter, Top Thrill 2 will be added to the early entry ride lineup starting on Monday.

This seems like a good sign.
