I hope y'all get high resolution photos of the trains. Very curious to see what's different.

I'm honestly a little apprhensive about that claim knowing how things were going down. I'm gonna give it a couple weeks before checking things out.

Work harder, seagulls! You need to push Cedar Point into the sun!

When it comes to opening day, I'm apprehensive about many of the rides being operational. Or at least in regard to expected uptime. But the fact that the park is planning for TT2.1 to be in operation is certainly a great signal that they feel they've resolved the issues that drove the ride's closure.

Since you know how things were going down care to educate the rest of us?

The Opening Day/Opening Weekend forecast is looking worse and worse as we get closer. I'm dreading all of the social media entitlement if the ride isn't open because of the projected rain and wind we're expected to have on Saturday.

The forecast is definitely a big change from earlier this week when it was supposed to be mostly sunny and calm. The rain forecast for Sat/Sun didn't look too bad as of last night but appears to be getting worse with each model run. The NE wind of 15-20 with gusts approaching 30 will be fun as well. As far as social media goes it really doesn't matter, it could be 72° and sunny with a light cooling breeze and the keyboard warriors are still complaining and throwing temper tantrums over it.

^^ Forecast has been changing this week, from nice to rainy. We have planned for weeks to get up this weekend, head North and have a great time...Maybe not.

I don't mind a bit of rain, but I cant stand the wet shoes and socks! Told the daughter, if it's going to be rainy...we have all summer to plan to go.

I don't mind the rain at all. I mind when they shutter every ride because of a passing sun shower over Port Clinton.

It's always even more frustrating at CP when I remember it's not even a chainwide thing. Two weeks ago at Kings Island everything stayed open (and running all of the trains) when a pretty heavy downpour hit.

I am actually surprised by this article from WKYC, not that the rumors I had been hearing were incorrect (as they usually are) but surprised that Cedar Point announced TT2 will be open on May 3rd prior to state testing being completed. Originally it was said that Cedar Point and Zamperla released the ride at the end of March when it was reported that they scheduled the state inspection. Since there was no incident involving the ride and it was voluntarily shut down by Zamperla and CP I don't see the state inspection being an issue but still, there must be a lot of confidence from CP for them to assume the inspection will pass and the ride will indeed be cleared by Saturday.

I don't think it's that out there that it may not be officially certified by the state yet. I recall seeing rides, in past years, being certified ON opening day.

Interesting, until now I never paid much attention to when the state certifies rides. Since there was no incident that caused the closure of the ride and no investigation by the state I guess its not a big deal. Looks like the state ride inspectors are used to certifying rides day of for fairs and carnivals etc.

Forecast is looking a tad better even though there is rain likely all the way through Monday. Still looking forward to this weekend, even if it looks to be cold and rainy. Should still be able to sneak a few rides in here and there between the raindrops.

Edit: TT2 has been running all 3 trains with riders for at least an hour or 2 now. Hopefully a good sign of things to come.

I missed my chance to ride TT2 on opening day last year because I refused to wait 2 hours in line.
I think the weather will keep the crowds away this year, and if it's running, I'll redeem myself.

I saw the weather was bad up y’all’s way but saw that some people did get to ride it! The fact it operates confidently in the rainy conditions feels like a good sign for day 1

knock on wood
