Braved the crappy weather and managed to get a ride. The modifications have definitely improved the ride experience.

The wind is directly off the lake today and is brutal. Doubt much will open so I can just sense the online hate flowing about TT2 already being closed on day 2. On a brighter note the Grand Pavillion is once again open for early entry and serving breakfast.

Tough to beat Kenny's promotional ride last year though.
^I'm retired from Cedar Point promotions. Plus I haven't kept up on my SAG membership. I did a commercial for Raptor in 2002 and a promotional shoot for Shoot the Rapids during its inaugural season. It was cool to be featured on Cedar Point's homepage that summer.

Did anyone get to ride TT2 in 2024 and again in 2025? I've heard people say it's been slowed down and the trains don't "fly" over the tophat like it did last year. That would be a pretty big shame if so, but I can't help but think the speed decrease was due to the bad weather. A lot of rides were down and MF even valleyed. What are your thoughts?
I was able to ride TT2 quite a few times last year and so far about a dozen times this season. To me, and this is only based upon my recollection of rides from last season. It is not slowed down. I still feel like I am getting whipped over the top hat although it is not violent like I would have described my last few rides of 2024. Perhaps this is due to the slightly lower position of the seating on the trains. Several people who I have talked to feel the same way I do however, 1 person said it feels slower to them. I am only including opinions of people I know who actually rode the ride both seasons. Watching a web cam or a posted video can be a bit deceiving, especially since some of the very slow travels over the top hat were in extreme wind / rainy conditions. The ride also experienced several roll backs during that time as well.
I am interested to see what others think after they have had a chance to ride it this season, there are a lot of folks here who rode last year but haven't yet this year.
It feels mostly the same as it did last year. I think maybe because the seats are a little lower, I don't feel like I'm being yeeted out over the top hat.
I finally got my ride on the new and improved TT2 and a lot less vibration than last year. My ride still felt faster over the top hat than when it was TTD. Is it as fast as my ride last year? Eh, it was negligible to me, but I'm sure there is someone out there who says it's slower. I still felt loads of air going over and the spiral still felt wild to go through than when it was before.
It's a great addition to the park and a good way to combine the loss of TTD and Wicked Twister rides. Even with Fastlane in front of us, the line moves at a decent pace.
Go ride it!
So what does the early data show on reliability? Haven't heard much about up time and downtime yet. Obviously this is a BIG question for this ride.
If the past 8 years had taught me anything it’s that we don’t need actual data, just go by what we think is happening. I say it’s a success since I see it running often.

Interesting. Originally I didn't notice you had to apply the date to get the data as I thought on a day we had rode TT2 many times it was reported as being closed. Once I figured out how to properly see the data it is very close to what I have observed in person at the park on my 6 visits so far this year. Queue times might be more accurate than the CP app for wait times, I need to start paying more attention to it.
I use QT at all the parks over the in park wait time apps. They are pulling their data directly from the parks, but there are also user reported updates as well. Occasionally you'll see someone being silly and putting something like Corkscrew at a 180 minute wait on a slow Tuesday, or users marking TT2 as open throughout the closure last year, but anything user reported shows as such.
I go by the wait time sign outside the entrance. I leave my phone in the car and enjoy the day. Sometimes I even leave the phone at home.
