If the track is Orange, it would be cool if the name was Wild Cat. Bring back the name like we did with Shoot the Rapids.

Except Shoot the Rapids was around decades ago. WildCat has only been gone a month. People would get confused.

Someone mentioned this earlier, but I think "stratasoar" could very well be the name.

They ditched that trade mark a while ago.

^ Sandpiper or Semipalmated Plover, or "We Met " on the boardwalk. Or make a flyover Pinks and call it the flying bun...

I'm pretty sure "Sandpiper" is meant to be a joke, but for some reason I actually really like that name for the coaster.

I hope not, but I have the feeling they are going to go the Six Flags route and reuse the name "Leviathan" for our ride.

Let's Get Weird.

I don't think they'd do that. Cedar Fair doesn't have a history of repeating names, so why would they start now? Plus some people might get confused with 2 Leviathans opening only a year apart, and they aren't too far away from each other.

Well they have re-used ride names like Dominator and Thunderhawk to name a couple.

Cedar Point would never do that.

Really? Would they not?

Let's see...
"WindSeeker"
"Thunderhawk"
"Dominator"
"Backlot Stunt Coaster"
"Power Tower"
"Grizzly"
"Flight Deck"
"Corkscrew"
"Mad Mouse"
"Intimidator" (though one has 305 added to the end of it)
"Woodstock's Express"
"Vortex"
There are numerous shows that have the same names (and are the same show).
"Luminosity" will eventually end up at other parks as well and then you have areas that are named the same at a few parks-"Dinosaurs Alive!", "Camp Snoopy", "Planet Snoopy" etc...
...I'm sure there are many more. All these names, are names used at two or more Cedar Fair parks as names for attractions. Sure some were old Paramount Park Rides (or were named those under Paramount), but they didn't have to name them all the same names afterwards.

Cedar Fair is a chain and they don't mind using names at the same time (the name would already be trademarked after all). Two WindSeekers opened up close to eachother (in the same state in the same year) another coaster named Leviathan wouldn't confuse people (but I hope it's not named that). And what makes you think Cedar Point would never do that?

The new ride will be called the Angry Seagull and it will poop on guests as they pass through the front entrance.

I still like this idea the best. :) Not to mention, you could pre-paint all the seagull droppings on the support structure, thereby helping it to blend in a bit with some other rides in the park.

I think with coaster's it's a bit different. If a coaster is a carbon-copy of another one, it would be easier to give them the same names...All the stunt coaster's are basically the same, windseekers are the same, etc. In the case of Intimidator, they could have easily given them the same name but chose not to; instead, they gave them similar names. They're different, but not too different, so it's appropriete that they're names are also different, but not too different.

I highly doubt they'd name CP's new coaster Leviathan unless it was the same thing as leviathan, which we all know it's not going to be.

Saw this on Facebook. http://postimage.org/image/twgphzbbz/

Any thoughts?

Nice rendering, but pure speculation done by a coaster fan with the limited information we have.

Seems kind of flat and boring after the turn around going back over the entrance.

The rest looks great though. We'll see what happens.

Well, what about the Thunderhawks then? One is a wooden coaster, one is an SLC and one is a Top Spin.

The Flight Decks aren't only different models, but different manufacturers.

Power Tower was used twice (Cedar Point & Valleyfair)

Dominator, one is a Floorless Coaster, the other is a S&S Tower.

The Grizzly's are both wood coasters.

Point here is, it could in fact be named "Leviathan". I don't think it will be, but to write it off at this point wouldn't make sense because it is still possible.
