^^ I emailed directly from the Cedarpoint.com website (contact us). There's a big list of topics to choose from. I heard back twice from them (1 email and 1 letter in the mail from the director of planning about future park expansion). That reply did take a few months but the other came within 2 weeks. BTW, I'm a tree lover as much as anyone, but....that oak (?) is truly blocking a great view of the new light package on Giant Wheel if you're riding on the skyride. Too bad they can't move it. Did anyone else notice that there are no LED lights on the opposite side of Giant Wheel.? I'm sure the Lake Erie boats/WT riders, beach goers, would like to see them also. I'm sure it was just a cost measure but seems kind of funny though.
Maybe they'll do that in the future with the addition of Gatekeeper. Depending on where the queue wraps around to the station, maybe they'll have it set-up where you can see both Wicked Twister front spike along with Giant Wheel.
I also really hope they dont block the view of the beach with a giant WALL between the Gatekeeper queue area and the shoreline. It is such a beautiful view and stupid safety regualtions always butt in and cover up everything. I hope they leave it open, if they are planning on putting the line area on that side of the coaster. I hate walls.
I'm sure we'll see a similar fence to what Wicked Twister has.

^That's what I was thinking as well.
It seems ridiculous to cut down a mature tree because it blocks the view of one ride from one particular spot in the park. You can see Giant Wheel from pretty much everywhere.
Haha, I agree. While the the lights on the Giant wheel are gorgeous, I'd really rather them not get rid of trees just so you can see it from every angle.
Why not get rid of maXair too? I can't see the lights when I am standing in front of one of the support pillars.
He was making a joke about its stupid to remove something just because you can't see the lights from a certain angle,

You know the steps in the corner by Maxair and in front of where space spiral used to be? I wonder what they are planning on doing with those. Why were they even built anyway when space spiral was new? I never understood those steps....
I'm just going to take a guess and say it has something to do with draining water when it rains. I think that if they just kept it a slope, all the rain water would flood around the game booth area.
I have a crazy question. I have seen the animation many times for Gatekeeper and have noticed the trains are yellow. Are they going to mark the trains in some way so both the riders and the ride attendants know which train is which? I was thinking maybe they would do it similar to Magnum where all three trains are white but have the color on the front of the train.
I think the steps by the Space Spiral were originally made because of the natural grading (slope) of the land. I've also wondered if they were going to do away with those next year but it doesn't appear so. I'm thinking that the trains for GK might be numbered on the front/sides possibly, we'll see. BTW, I'm glad I got my last trip of the year in last week instead of my usual closing weekend , it's been nothing but power outages and raining cats and dogs here for 3 days now and will probably be worse once the remnants of Sandy (trop.storm) roll in.
Shawn Meyer - According to CP, the trains will have different color accents. They will all be gold, but a different shade on each train. I am sure they will be numbered too.
Top Thrill Laps - 57
2014 CP Visits - 7
Opening Day 2015 : Rougarou - Front Seat!
I have never noticed, but are Raptor's trains numbered? They all look the same to me.
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
Every coaster train, car, ride vehicle, flight suit, etc are numbered. I wanna say that the state requires it but I am not 100% sure on that one. Dave could probably say for sure.
Has anyone given a thought to the areas AROUND GateKeeper? Is the GateKeeper going to fill in the entire area in with track/grass/trees/concrete etc.., or are they going to extend the maXair midway so it goes almost up to the coastline?
I know in the animation there were pockets of asphalt squares (that may be used for parking) but nothing has been specifically said (to my knowledge), about the areas near/around the track.
I know the VIEW of lake Erie will "open up" (compared to when DT was there), but what about actually being able to WALK UP TO the beach (or near it.) What about putting new food stands or possibly more, smaller rides around there?
Even the CEO said he would like to "see the beach come to life."

It seems it just you and me who cares about the "leftover" land next to GateKeeper (near troika). I personally wish thy'll put some foliage around that area. And remove some of the concrete and make a nice shaded area. Hopefully it's something like what's in front of the Good Time T(but more modern).
Something similar to this

And the area "next" to GateKeeper (behind the games area) is currently used as a backstage area. I also support the Idea of actually being on the beach, but that's already an option. Just exit through the Beach gate :/
^ That's the problem. I don't think there is going to be alot of leftover area around Gatekeeper. You're forgetting that a queue line is going to probably take up some area in front of (parallel to) the refreshments stands and shooting over to the beach to enter the station (probably behind Troika). The other "land" leftover will probably just be used for a new seating area for the refreshment stands as well as another fence and a new employee parking area. I'm just hoping we get a cool GK sign, kind of like Millenium Force or the Mantis logo.
