Actually, the webcams are all down at KI, CP, & Carowinds as well.
Yet the Live Webcam at CP is still functional.
The only thing in common is that all of the cams contain Windseeker rides - and they may be doing some testing or evacuation drills they don't want viewed.
so here's the deal:
California's Great America ... no webcam
Canada's Wonderland .......... no webcam
Carowinds .................... same provider
Cedar Point .................. same provider
Dorney Park .................. different provider
Kings Dominion ............... no webcam
Kings Island ................. same provider
Knott's Berry Farm ........... no webcam
Michigan's Adventure ......... no webcam
Valleyfair ................... no webcam
Worlds of Fun ................ no webcam
all the ones with the same webcam provider are down. also, if you ping the webcam IP, it comes back without a result.
Very true, but the KI storm traker cam is still on and pointing straight at windseeker. Doesn't seem like there is much going on at the present moment.
And just as an FYI, I made myself a text alert to let me know when the cams go down and then when they come up... I know I'm a nerd.

Wow I must be old school, actually having to manually check if the cams are up or down.
We learned this weekend that they'll probably be moving CP's GateKeeper cam closer to the construction site.
Thanks CoasterBob62! Its going to be awesome to see that steel rise! =)
P.S. Love your videos!!!!

CoasterHero, that is because that webcam is not hosted on the same provider.
yes, I know that. I was just referring to the comment made earlier regarding testing on the windseekers. We can see windseeker from that cam and know what is going on if testing is the reason.
Thanks for clarifying anyway for others.
Just wondering, I always wondered what those bathroom triangle rooftops are for. I hope they remove them when they redo the entrance, as they are ugly and outdated. But what are they for? The ceiling inside the restrooms are flat and there are no skylights or whatever is up there.
They store bathroom supplies up there. But not a hard fix if they completely renovate those rest rooms.

Those ugly yellow triangles on the bathroom/picnic shelter roofs are on a park map that I have dating back to 1969 (before I was born). Who knows how long they've been there (haha). Funny and true story and this after the fact that we heard that the total expenditure for the 2013 would be a total of $25 million. I emailed the corporate office about those ugly things back in May after my opening week visit this year. I never noticed them in past years. I told them I was a long time season pass holder, that they were an eyesore, faded and needed to be removed (or at least covered up by a CP logo) and while they're at it, cut down the big tree (in Kiddie Kingdom behind the dodgems) blocking the view of the Giant Wheel's lights at night (as viewed from skyride). Needless to say they emailed back and told me "thanks for my astute and observational comments". Next thing I hear, the 2013 expenditure is now $30 million, coincidence, I think not (haha!!)
Funny they actually wrote back^ I emailed a corporate address before talking about other matters, and they never wrote back. I guess it depends what you say. Did you use an email from the Cedar fair website?

It seems ridiculous to cut down a mature tree because it blocks the view of one ride from one particular spot in the park. You can see Giant Wheel from pretty much everywhere.
