DUH! Superman of course!

That's probably a more likely approach than the OP has come up with so far.

Goodbye MrScott

I wouldnt want to see it torn down. Its nostalgia from my childhood.

It would be missed, but if they put something in it's place it would have to be kick a$$...

Maverick Crew 08 and 09.

I have work on the Mine Ride for that last three summer as Cedar Point it may not be the biggest coaster in the park but it is a great started coaster for kids to ride and pules it a great family coaster as well too. . so i don't think cp is going to take it out anytime soon.

09 TL Demon Drop

With a minimum height requirement of 48", CCMR is hardly a "first" coaster anymore. That honor goes to Junior Gemini and/or Woodstock Express.

It's still a classic, fun ride though, and it looks beautiful.

Anyway, why would CP want to "TAER" it down? Wouldn't that imply the park is running out of room? ;)

CCMR is unique and has a great place in CP history. I like the unique smells of grease and wood. The familiar noises like the whoosh of the cars as they take the curve just before the helix, the crack of rifle shots on Paddlewheel Excursions, the train whistle, and the spiel. It's especially fun to ride in the dark.

My 3 magical wishes:

1) More comfortable restraints designed for the body sizes of 21st century Americans.

2) Re-design the interior for better comfort and access/egress.

3) A little more hustle. Move those cattle! Err, I mean us guests. Hopefully we can master sitting down and getting up in something less than two minutes, even including pulling on the torture bar.

Just say no to trims

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have been going to CP for over 30 years and I'm curious on what is upstairs above the station. The only reason I'm asking is I seen operators go up and down the stairs multiple times on Monday, since that's basically the only ride my niece wanted to ride all day.

Just a guess, but it could be a break area or locker area for employees.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Thanks for the info Pete, I was kinda assuming the same thing.

Since when does Cedar Point care a rats butt about keeping anything around for nostalgia sake? If so we could still enjoy the Earthquake, Pirate Ride, Upside Down Fun House, Space Spiral, Western Cruise, Etc. The entire point of the place is to attract teens and young adults. If others come, fine. If not, well we still have the teens, young adults, oh yes - the gang bangers too.
But once these types become a certain age and start dropping off attendance wise then what? Oh yes, they will tear down more nostalgia for new THRILL rides.

Wow, you're so informative. For starters teens, young adults and gang-bangers don't spend the money a family of four does.

But isn't gang-bangers how we get families?

Trust me, if all they attract are the teens and young adults, the shareholders are going to very unhappy.

I agree with Bret; however, there really is a gap in rides for a family with young/little ones to enjoy together. My daughter's spirit is more than willing to ride the big iron (and wood) but the body is unable...she is a peanut. Nice that we can ride Iron Dragon together, but most of the other rides are inches away. Sure, she still enjoys the kiddie rides, but then I just get to watch.

We'll get our money's worth out of the season passes one way or the other and have a great time doing it. Just wish there was a bit more we could do together.

FWIW she wants the Junior Gemini torn down (because it is boring) and a Junior Gatekeeper built in its place.

I want to see the CCMR stay for a long time.

I do want CCMR to stay for a while to for two reasons.
One, it is one of the few family roller coasters in the park.
Two, Pretending it isn't torn down, they can always take away the cedar dorms and make 17 roller coasters again so we can be back in the race. I know that CP isn't as concerned about it, but I would still like CP to reclaim its title as having most coasters, or at least be tied for it.

Breaking the record for most coasters is old news. It's quality over quantity now. Another park can add 3 child coasters, or could add dull rides to break the record. Or Cedar Point could be 20 roller coasters and that's it. It's more important to have the most attractions. Think about the other 50 rides they offer. The flat rides we got are awesome not to mention the entertainment.

I only road it once, and have to compare CCMR to my experience with Adventure Express at KI. AE was my first roller coaster ride with my son. I'd HATE if KI considered taking it out, and I see why CP folks would feel the same. AE is WAY better than CCMR, though! As is Flight Deck at KI as it compares to Iron Dragon. KI has a lot more landscape to play with, especially on these types of rides.

I respectfully disagree about adventure express and flight deck. I thought both were each a bit rough. I did not understand the conclusion of adventure express, the theme and story line were not developed well enough. As for iron dragon the 2 lift hills are better than one on flight deck and the layout seemed to allow for more swinging of the cars. I also preferred the water filled landscape and accessibility provided by iron dragon compared to the required trek to no where for flight deck.

I love it both for its nostalgia and because my young son enjoys the drop into the water. I love looking back to riding it as a child and thinking of the time where they used to have the cable cars over there (station still right next door). I think of those every time I ride it. It's also nice that it's located near the museum.
