Castaway Bay

Three (Great Bear, Castaway Bay, Kalahari) confirmed, #4 might be on the way, and a rumor of #5.

Even though Breakers Express is seasonal, I believe it would have to pay overtime for any hours worked over 40. I'm pretty sure it has to do with being on-point (a particular location) in a recreation envrionment.

Anyway, is it still going to have the Radisson name? I doubt it, since the reservation number is central reservations for Cedar Point Resorts. They currently don't handle Radisson reservations. If it doesn't have the Radisson name, will it stay Harbour Inn, or will they change the name of the hotel completely (to Castaway Bay?)

Actually, Central Reservations can book you into the Radisson Harbour Inn. That's where you get sent if you call for reservations after-hours or on the weekend. However, if you have special room requests, you should call during regular hours and talk to someone at the Radisson itself. We will be staying at the Radisson 12/23 - 12/28 for Christmas vacation. Going to be interesting dodging all the construction equipment in the parking lot. I'll probably take some pictures, but this early in the game, they won't be very interesting, I am guessing. Anybody from GTTP who is in Sandusky on Friday 12/26/03 is invited to drop into Room 163 and introduce themselves! We will be having a holiday party then, 7pm to whenever. Room 163 is one of the party rooms, down past the pool. Look for the the tallest person in the room, and that will be me.

It is my understanding that the name Radisson will be gone soon. Harbour Inn is probably a safe bet. Maybe they will just call it The Castaway Resort.

The artist's renderings make the project look really, really cool. Check out that 520-foot-long water slide...more record-breaking? With all that -- plus a 6,000 square foot arcade (hopefully with some excellent Bemani games...) -- it should be a great addition and a ton of fun for guests. (Too bad employees probably wouldn't be allowed to spend days off there!)

I believe you were talking about the Master Blaster Water Coaster. That should look pretty nice.

As for everyone planning on using it, they are not scheduled to be completed with it until November of next year, so it's not like any employees are going to get to use it this coming summer (at least not in its final version).

there are Master Blasters in Texas that are longer than 520 feet. It's not a record..

Just wish we were getting a Boogie Bahn.. :)

As I understand it, the Radisson name will be gone. Also, it appears that the use of the water park will be limited to paying guests of the resort. In other words, no day-rate admission or CP passholder access. Of course, I would not be surprised if that changed, if only to compete with Great Bear lodge, which offers access to people who are not staying there.

Oh, I know that. I was just thinking about it in general. ^_^

Tank, just so you know, Great Bear Lodge does not allow anyone into the waterpark that is not a hotel guest.

I am pretty sure CP will follow suit with Castaway Bay just for the sake of the guests who will be paying big money to stay there.

Actually, I know some people who have gone to the Great Beat lodge who wern't staying at the hotel. But they got to go because they sold 15 items in a QVC (I think) fund raiser. Granted that was something special, they still got in.

Anyways, this look like to be one awesome waterpark, and sandusky is quickly becoming a year-round resort town.

Is it wrong for me to be wondering if you can get a rollback on a Master Blaster? :)

Friday, September 18th, 2003 at 10:10 PM. It finally happened. Rollback on Dragster in the front seat of the gold train!

It looks sweet. Will definately have to stay there next winter. It's good that the theme is completely different than Great Bear too.

Does the Master Blaster count towards CP's other 16 coasters?
That's an awesome question. I would have to say YES!

No.. because it's a water slide #1..

#2 Castaway Bay is not actually Cedar Point, it's a resort property of Cedar Fair.
