...ESD events...that would be awesome (but closing it to the GP) during the summer...I don't know how well that will float over (we saw the problems they had with TTD)

The interesting part is the new competition. Kalahari will be opening soon enough - plus the rumors of #4 and #5. Kalahari is going to be huge. That's a lot of jobs to fill. Looks like the residents of Erie County will come out ahead with the new jobs, tax revenue, and off-season money boost.

The issue gets into employment laws. If someone works 40 hours per week for a given number of weeks in a year, they must be considered full-time employees and get all the benefits that go with that.
Presumably there will be some management-type folk who will be full-time employees but I would guess that most of the guards would be part-time.

On the other hand, because the work is not seasonal, it will be easier to get local folks to fill the jobs rather than try to attract transient college/international kids.
