Capacity-word of the day.

Moved opening day? You're kidding, right?

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

Well Dragster the ride was very impressive, as is easy to say. Got in line at 10 because my friend that went along with me was not JCC. Was told the wait was more than 5 hours long and we decided to get out of line and go ride everything else first. The line was at Corkscrew by around noon, very insane. Tankfully we did wait because we got to ride every single coaster in the park that we could, with the exception of Mean Streak which was down all day. Got back in line for dragster at about 6:30 where theline only got through half of the entrance-most qeue area. The one thing that was suprising was all of the down time that Dragster experienced. we would see a few launches then a 15-30 minute lull where obviously there was a problem being fixed. After waiting till around 11:00 and finally getting to the upramp towards the station, and having preformed "the Wave" in line a few dozen times (that was a big pick me up by the way) we got to the station and had many more pauses in the action. They had a breakdown while we were next in line for the front 2 seats of the 2nd car on the Blue train.

For some reason the blue train never made it into the loading area because it got stuck on the back curve. The problem seeming to be the fact that the kicker wheels were not strong enough to push the train forwards?!? I see this as somewhat of a problem. The ride ops seemed to have no clue what was going on and after many phone calls from the booth and a barrage of maintenance personell and management crowded the opposite side of the platform they proceeded to pull out the Operation Manual. aftre puzzling looks, more tries of the kicker wheels and actually pushing the blue train into its place in the back half of the station they finally launched the red train and then we got our ride.

I am disappointed about the way opening day went especially with only operating 3 trains with 4 cars each. And for the fact that the lights on the tower werent even there and that the christmas tree was not working. But in all the disappointment The ride still was great. A longer ride with elements would have been better BUT L:TH:TW:B will deffinitely do.

Yes,having 3 trains on opening day really sucked. They should have made a better showing. Whether it is 3 trains or 6 on the tracks, the unloading and loading is the same since there are 2 load stations and however many unloading.

It seemed the ops were under trained, thats for sure, maybe thats why. The ops were also under trained on manners, they were some of the rudest I have seen in quite a while.

How were the ops rude? They politely asked me for the red strap to tighten my belt and they warned me before they stapled me(thank God for that, BTW!!). The ops were also cracking down on in-line smoking...I loved it!

Well, you know, they busted their ass to build the ride and have it operational by opening day. With a new, one of a kind ride like this, you have to expect some problems!

How many parks would go to the trouble to remove one car from all the trains to run the ride? Most would just leave it closed until whatever issues exist were fixed so that 5 car trains can run. How many parks will run a ride until possibly 4 or 5 hours after closing so that everyone can ride? I know Six Flags WOA had the Superman train in pieces on the ground, and Xflight only had one train running and it STILL doesn't reclined on the lift like it is supposed to. Those are established rides, and look how they run (if they run). There are things the need to be resolved on Dragster, that aren't made public, before the ride will run at full capacity.

I think CP deserves a big thank you for going the extra mile to run the ride. From what I have seen, they did the absolute best they could. Also, I have heard from a good source that all the cars should be on the trains by this weekend, and possibly five trains will run. The sixth train will return soon. Capacity should be much better very soon! I also heard the Christmas tree will be working by this weekend. The summer has just begun, I'm sure everyone will get plenty of Dragster rides this year.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
It's great to live in Ohio!

Their ops did absolutely about the continuous stream of people leaving line and coming back in. They stood there and watched over 30 people I counted in the 4 hours I was in line, leave line to go to the bathroom, get food for their party, and just generally waiting till we got in the last set of queues before they got in the line. It was ridiculous.

Then when I finally sat in the seat,I inadvertently sat on the latch end of the belt and it was beside my leg, but I didn't realize it right away, plus my winter coat I was wearing was covering it anyway. When the op came by and started to slam my lap bar down, I asked where it was, still not realizing it was beside my leg, and she told me she wasn't allowed to help me. Whats up with that?

I don't really like people saying how bad SFWoA was, and not really pointing many things good out. It bugs me when they compare it to CP.

But I haven't rode TTD yet. I am really anxious to get a ride, but I think I'm gonna ride TTD in 2004. Why? Because then CP will start getting everything figured out and start having the ride run at full capacity. I don't want to wait 5 or 6 hours to ride a 30 second ride, even if it is worth the wait. I have better things to do with my time, like plant a tree.

You know some of you people are SO ungratful and DID NOT deserve to ride TTD this weekend if all you are going to do is whine and moan about it. Again BE THANKFUL that CP had it OPEN AT ALL. Cause these those same people that are complaing about the capacity would then be complaining, why did they not ahve it open this weekend, or they should have gotten it open with only 3 trains, WHICH IS WHAT THEY DID. Yes we all know that a 6 hour wait is not fair, but again, YOU CHOOSE TO WAIT. If it bothered you then you should have waited a few weeks till all the cars and trains were in operation.

As for the crew, lets cut them some slack, they got very little time with the ride, and have had to work alot of hours in the past few days, till 1am on Sat. night, and just about as late last night. As for the people coming in and out, I'm sure that after 4-5 hours alot of people have to go to the bathroom, let them, what if you had to go, would you enjoy holding it, not me. So come on guys cut them some slack, and give them some time, it WILL NOT be another Mantis of old crew!

It really gets to me that people can sit here and complain because a new ride was not at its full potential on its first real day. I'm sorry, but all you whiners got to ride it. Some of us had to stay home and work all day, so we could not go to the park. Be thankful for two reasons, you got to ride it and you got something you did not deserve.

MFJedi - When I heard stories about the ops letting people go to the restroom and what not, I thought that was wonderful. With the line being as long as it was according to the reports, people could have waited 4 hours and then had to go to the bathroom. They cannot control that. It is good that Cedar Point allowed them to return to their place in line. If it was you, you would not have a problem with it. It did not cost you anymore time in line. It was not like they were letting people cut; it was people already in front of you!

Who’s complaining? All I've been reading are people stating facts, besides, who is honestly going to say "Waiting in line for 5 hours was the best part of the day!”. Sure the ride is great but I seriously doubt CP was planning to only run three trains of twelve people.
I want to know who came to the park not expeacting a 5 hour line. I knew it was going to be bad long before I knew there was only going to be 3 trains. Must we recall the MF line that stretched back to Iron Dragon? C'mon people get serious. Of course waiting in line for 5-6 hours isnt the best thing in the world. The was no problem with the ride-ops. It doesnt matter how much time they had to train before the park opened, its a whole new world out there when there are 3,000 anxious people waiting to get to the same place. Put yourself in their shoes for a second and think about it. I think its funny how some people go from "im not going to ride it if its so short" to complaining that stupid crap like the christmas tree wasnt working...If its that disappointing for you all, do the rest of us favor and dont get in line again. Your just wasting a space in line. *shakes head in disgust* [end of rant]
As far as 6th train,it's already there. Just not on ride site. Remember the Gold train in early photos on CP's website? That's the one missing so far.

And for capacity, Mr. Kinzel told us Sunday that capacity would double next week. He mentioned that without us even asking!

Excuse me? We got to ride something we didn't deserve? Now that pisses me off. Whining? I guess Jeff's topic on the wall is a bunch of complaining also? Yes, TTD was open, yes I rode it, but in the long run, it should have had another week in testing to make sure that at least it was near capacity. So what if you had to work all day? "It will not be another Mantis crew?" how very hypocritical of you....

calm down, Gould. calm down... we all know the ride was well worth the wait, especially if you got there at 7:00 in the morn and participated in the running of the bulls and only waited a mere 1.5 hours compared to the saps who slept in...

gould you need to calm down and not get so worked up right before you go to school. thats not a good combination anger +school= bad times. but any way at least you got to ride it so stop complaining about capacity. jeez at least it runs...

Your post is implying something that I really don't care for. Both you and rogue whatever need to learn that these forums aren't for children, post somewhere else, and don't insult me.
