Capacity-word of the day.

Or not. More like the ignored word of the day. My first ride on TTD was excellent, nothing like a launch of 120 mph. The on-ride photo I actually got, although I agree that the cameras needed tweaking. What got me was the lack of prepardness(sp?) the park had today. Capacity was pretty bad on most of the rides, now this could be attributed to new crews, but I don't recall it being this bad. I noticed the lack of lights and trains on TTD, hopefully, by Memorial Day, these will be up and running.. the midway looks great, and the ride was great, lets hope CP gets the kinks worked out next week..
Yeah, It will all get better in time... Or so we can only hope.
How crowded was/is the park?
And how long was the wait time for TTD today?
The ride ops on TTD were some of the rudest I've seen in quite a while. Made the Mantis ops look nice.

The news just reported that the wait was up to 5 hours. However, we were there today (did not ride it!) and overheard a security officer joking with a person who wanted to ride it and said "are you willing to wait 8 hours?"

The sign at the opening to the ride said "4 hour wait" but there was SUCH a long line even before you got to that sign, it had to be over 5 hours total. And it was taking FOREVER for them to launch.

It was 4 hours,I waited in it, it was terrible.

Just got a call from my friend....took him 6 hours from the beginning of the queue to the exit ramp....

We got in it when the park opened at 9:30,it was longer than when we got it in it by 11 or 12 then died down to the 4 hours again by about 2 when we got off.
Judging from many of your remarks here, it seems to me that the crew of TTD recieved minimal training, perhaps in order to get TTD up and running as soon as possible, I certainly hope the park straightens out many of the kinks throughout the park..

p.s.- Wicked Twister ran fine today, although it seemed to be lacking in something..

gould, you got to ride before us because you can put up a better sprint! well, anyways, the ride was quite easily the greatest experience of my life! My friends and i got there at 7 in the morning, and got on the ride at about 10:30 or so. second seat from front. greatest ride ever. sure, the park's capacity was pretty lackluster, but it doesnt really matter after going 120 mph! i was pretty dissapointed to see that Gemini was only running one train, and i don't understand why Mean Streak had a 45 minute wait. that's usually a walk on, at most! I was proud of Raptor's capacity; when we rode, 30 minute wait! I was amazed! Chaos looks great in it's new home (and that sure is the most neutral background ive ever seen! ;) ) and Troika looks like it belonged there from the start. im glad Cedar Point is back open!

I definitely waited 5 hours, 45 minutes for my second ride... :( but it was still worth it! :) I timed dispatch intervals the whole time I was in line, and I figured that the capacity today was averaging out at about 400-450 pph.

Dragster "Top Thrills": 2
World's first strata-coaster!

Raptor, MF, WT and Magnum were all running quite well I thought. Even Wildcat was putting 'em through real quickly.

We waited 4.5 hours for TTD. There's something else wrong with it; I don't believe it's the operators. I don't think the ride is finished, and they're just milking it along to keep it running.

If any park can get a ride to full capacity, it's CP. Patience will show this to be an outstanding and high through-put ride
worthy of the park it's in.

Without upstops, airtime would have a whole new meaning!

As has been stated already. By 9:30 it was 4 hours. By 10:00 probably 4 1/2+. Afternoon was 5+ at times. 400 pph as mentioned was probably not all that far off if I had to guess. MF was around 1 in the PM. There was no Freeway pass for TTD, but other rides had em today.
I just want to say that when I got in line at 6:00pm, we were told a 4 hour wait. Well about 4 hours into the wait, dragster breaks down due to technical difficulties. The ride ops tell us that the ride is closed, and they don't know how long it will be closed, but we are more then welcome to wait for them to fix the problem. This is at 10:00pm mind you! So we wait a half hour and they get the ride going again and another hour and a half to ride! So all in all, we waited 6 hours to ride "TOP THRILL DRAGSTER", and I must say "It was worth it"!

Read the trip reports, folks. Opening day was essentially the third day they had the public on the train. If indeed Intamin only turned the ride over last week, it should come as no surprise that the park doesn't yet have a lot of experience with the ride. Truth is, they could've just not opened it all instead of making the concessions they did with regards to capacity. Then everyone would complain about that instead.

Two different TV stations here in Cleveland had opening day video of their newscasters riding TTD. Do you think it could have been that the enormous amount of time between cars leaving the station could have been caused by this? (mounting cameras, etc) I thought that's what media day was for anyway...

The only way TTD is going to be able to be at top capacity is if operations and maintenance get more time on the ride without riders. That means that the ride might open late or not at all once they go to daily operation - the sacrifice of having a smooth operating summer. Don't be surprised to see signs warning of a late open come next week.

I was impressed TTD ran all day without any major downtime. Considering the downtime of Wicked Twister last yr, yesterday really could have been a lot worse.

I would have to argue with anyone who says that capacity was low for other rides. MF, Raptor, Magnum, WT, and even Mantis were cranking people yesterday. The only exception I saw was Gemini, which only ran 2 red trains. You can't blame the crews for that though, there was obviously a problem with the blue trains or you know they would've ran them. I went to SFWoA on Saturday for opening day and believe me, CP definately has thier act together compared to them.
