I'm sure Cedar Point will also make it very clear when they will be shutting down the ride.
Once they decide on a schedule, they will probably make signs to place in front of the entrance and at the park entrance.
The Bayern Kurve flat ride at KW goes down every day at 3PM for general maintence and a sign on the fence around the ride reports that.
That'd be a good idea. People would be able to know exactly when dragster would be down, letting them schedule out their day. Although, when I go to CP, I just do whatever comes to mind throughout the day.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.
Is it reliable or are there long delays. I think it is great that CP and Intamin got TTD up so quickly.

I checked out the area of the incident, there seems to be a lot of grease and chunks of something all over, and all three cables look shinny and new. I'm not sure what they found or the reason for the incident, but I hope it was a fray or defect in the cable of some kind (which would mean simply they didn't catch it). Either way, whatever cable was on there before that ended up in pieces would not have been that old.
If they inspected the cables that morning and they were fine, it doesn't exactly put my mind at ease that the solution was simply throw some new cables up look inspect them more often. Those cables seem to have a shelf life a couple months before something goes wrong with them, so if the cause was a fray/old/defect cable (which common sense says it was because apparently all they did was replace the old cables) they would have to keep a real sharp eye for it.
If you look at the recent news articles on this site, you'll see that only two of the cables were replaced this time around, and that the third cable was replaced back in June. What this suggests is that the cable that caused the most recent incident was NOT the cable that broke back in June, but rather was one of the cables that was replaced last season if it was replaced at all (didn't they replace all three cables after the one broke last year?). That makes me feel a little better about the longevity of the cables...

It ran incredibly well with a 6 train operation
Are you positive it was 6 trains? Granted I wasn't there, but from what I do know, I find it hard to believe that they were running 6 trains.
Just curious.

they are going to shut down operation of Dragster from time to time to inspect and evaluate the cables.
Just to comment, but doesn't this seem like something they should be able to do in the morning or after the park closes without getting in the way of the parks regular scheduled operation?

That sounds reasonable, you know after a few test runs early in the morning like around 9 oclock they could just be running trains for like 15 minutes and than inspect it for an hour and by time people get to the line it will be open.
They already do perform these inspections every morning before park opening. Designating a day for the ride to not operate will allow for a good, thorough inspection of the ride without the worry of getting the ride opened that day. And, like I said before, I'm sure Cedar Point will let guests know ahead of time (via internet or signs around the entrance) of the ride's closure.
