Cable shavings hit 4 riders

People have been coming up to me at work asking me about TTD for 2 days now. The "story" ranges from 6 people getting killed to a blood bath on the whole train
*sigh*

Thankfully no one was seriousely injured, and I am quite sure there is some money hungry corporate suing pig attorney out there who is just chomping at the bit at the potential lawsuit :(

If it was as easy to say that TTD is doomed, I think it would have been gone after last year. I don't see that EVER happening - after all, MS is still standing, isn't it? ;)
(CP-look at Dorney with Hercules!!! We want a Hydra too!!! :))

Times like this make all us Po!nters say, "If ya would've built a B&M floorless or flyer, none of this would have happened"

another *sigh*

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

John Edwards isn't available, he found a bigger cash cow to go after.

Just called park operations, They said they are hoping to get the ride back up today. There is no guarantee that it will open today.

I just looked at the station cam and all of the trains are in fron of the station. If that means anything, I don't know. I have been there plenty of times when all of the trains were lined up and it never opened for the day, but it does look as if there are two trains in the staging area, so maybe today they will be doing some testing in the least.

Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

... you mean except if the cable fragments would've hit people in the eye? That alone will keep me out of the front seat for awhile.

There is the good arguement right there for buying the $2 strap and keeping your shades on while you ride. I know I do and I like it - at least it gives you some eye protection from flying debris.

Looks like we have water dummies. I guess they will launch a few and see if the dummies come back leaking or not :)
Looks like they are testing it today, they have ride ops, and what looks like water dummies as previously mentioned. :)

And the park just opened 22 minutes ago.

TTD: 7 (Rollbacks seen: 32)
MF: 22
WT: 10

For research, everyone here should go watch the MythBusters episode when they try to pull a police car's rear axil out using cable, a la American Grafitti. That shows you first hand how vicious a cable snap is, and how a little force can snap it.
I'll get right on that. Thanks.

I saw that episode... It is insane how the cable just goes everywhere when it snaps.

Someone mentioned stuff about mean streak? I know it was destroying itself and trims were added, but was it really as bad as TTD's problems?

I give props to CP, Last night when i got back at around 2 AM. I got on my PC to check email and whatnot. I looked at the cams, There was still ride-ops and engineers just launching train after train.

I have a feeling i'll be stopping by the sunglass hut before my next CP trip.

LOL! I trust CP 100%. If they say the problem is fixed, I'll take their word for it. Though, accidents do happen.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Tons of people lined up way past the station, getting cose to corkscrew.

People are waiting in the station to ride, trains are being launched.

But if you watch the official site cams wou will see that in the statione there are some persons, in the queue line and also in the cam n.2 there are a long queue of persons wait at the entrance, so maybe ttd will reopen today!
It really does look like it's running. I watched a few launches on the Cleveland cam and then saw people in the station on the CP webcam. I don't sit around watching the cams all day but I had to check, considering this is an unusual situation. Front car rides can't help but be a little more dramatic now, anyone agree?

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Odd... dosn't look like they are using the standard que, looks like they are sending people in like on Hypersonic, hold the line outside of the que, then send people up to the station once there is room.
They were doing that before Mole. I think it's because the ride host at the entrance(with security) are being much more watchful of what people cannot bring in line. At least that was what I noticed when I was there(and it was up and running) last.

Thats the end of that very short run. Looks like its shut down yet again...

dose any one know why it is shut down
Yes, I am sure somebody knows.

Mods, I am not one to tell anyone what to do but this thread has run its course.

"It's up."

"It's down."

"It might be going up."

"It is down for the count."

Sounds like a typical evening in my bedroom.
