It was talking about the key hole stunts that GateKeeper will have.

Oh well I was just a having a thought!!!I am excited about the coaster for 2013! It would be just really cool to put a small one in too! Most parks dont do two at once!!!!

One has to wonder what the long term plan is for the smaller properties. For a park like Michigan Adventure or what is left at Geauga Lake, do they simply milk them until it is no longer worth keeping the doors open

My understanding is that both of those parks are doing pretty well attendance-wise. I actually read somewhere that Michigan's Adventure has the highest revenue (after expenses) of any of the parks. If it's making a ton of money and people are still showing up in droves, why invest more into it?

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I'm guessing that would be highest revenue per capita? If you're talking absolute numbers, I would be stunned and amazed, to the point of apologizing to Timber-Rider.

Don't make me do that.

Yah, now that you mention it, that sounds a lot more likely.

It was probably the highest profit margin. Which in my mind means they found their niche and are doing very well with that. If they have such a large profit margin as a smaller park then why take on a large capital expenditure when people are still coming to your park?

For the same reason they would do it at a larger park. Keep it fresh and stay ahead of the curve instead of reacting to a drop when it may be to late.

^Right and they will make improvements and additions but you won't see them putting in a $25 million coaster

I'm thinking they might not make those lofty goals this year. Weather has been cold and rainy for most of the month of August, and MiA does almost have their business in the month of August thanks to their waterpark.

Its been ridiculously hot every where this year. I would think the late summer crowds might have started coming earlier this year.

I actually heard the numbers for MiA in the beginning of August, and they were just over halfway to their expected number they wanted to reach. I have a good friend who's been in maintenance at the park for almost 10 years.

I wanted to bring this thread back because I really think there is more to come. The entire announcement seemed like they were leaving things out. Like maverickoo said earlier that it seemed incomplete. They never showed us any pictures or plans of the new front enterance or ticket stands nor did they show us the station for GK. Then there is that whole thing with the extra audio bit after the video was done. "Wait! You're not telling the whole story, there is..." now I know some of you think that was referring to the keyhole element, but I also was thinking that it could have been the start of the hooded figures speech. They were having problems getting it started and the audio seemed to cut right into a sentence. But my real thinking on this is that they are purposely leaving something out. I sound crazy sayin this but I almost believe that gatekeeper will actually have two rides to it. A ride like the dueling dragons ride at universal studios in Florida. Now before you complelty blow off this idea look at what the hooded figure said and notice how they always use plurals. "on your journey to cedar point and will arrive here to watch over the gate next season. If you're changing the entrance of the park it must be done THEIR way. THEY keep watch of the sky as THEY dive and sore across this plaza. Only the most daring and adventurous of guest will fly with THESE guardians like GateKeeper. The task is monumental, tallest drop, longest ride, massive "neighbors?"(not sure what is said there). You can see what I can see." so the speech is always talking about multiple gatekeepers and there is a pause after it says "fly with these guardians like gatekeeper" almost like tey cut out the name of the twin ride. So maybe that's why we haven't seen the new entrance or the ride station. John Hildebrandt did say "pause it!" real quick once the audio started up again. And Beccas face looked as if a secret was let out. Cedar point did say they liked to give out false clues and maybe this announcement is one just so they can really blow us away later. It could be that they were upset with the leaked memo, that they made the announcement with only the parts that were leaked and the rest is yet to come.

The plural words are probably referring to the 3 trains. I highly doubt there is anything else to the announcement.

Perhaps looking too much into it you are. Not good for you it will be.

Seriously though, the whole "They used pronouns and adjectives so there must be more to it" is kind of silly. If you thing about it, the "You're not telling the whole story" could simply be related to the facts regarding the ride.....which John later points out (tallest fastest etc). And the whole use of they, they're, these, when referring to the word guardians could simply be referring to the trains and the riders as guardians.

Also, the cloaked figure said massive maneuvers.

^ They did show photos on posters of the new gate tower entrance. It was next to the speaker's stand where John H. and Monty were speaking.

I do hope they make the station have a light theme to it, as they did not show or elaborate on the station for the announcement. It was also not in the animation in detail, so maybe they are planning on theming it somehow. It should be an attractive station, to go along with the medieval griffon type theme they have going :) I hope it's not just going to be a steel frame box with a roof over our heads.

Maybe the didn't give too many details on the station or entrance because they haven't been finalized yet. I'm sure they have the general idea for both but the details have yet to be confirmed.

This is my thought process as well. I'm expecting the ride to be themed a little better than it shows in the rendering.

^ well I just hope you don't set yourself up for diasapointment
