In the video, someone asked John if any theming elements such as Maverick's canyon walls & water cannons would be incorporated with Gatekeeper. His response was something like "we're working on that". They didn't reveal anything specific regarding "landscaping" either. While I would love to get surprised by an observation tower, fountains, etc... I'm quite elated with the announcement as is. I don't recall CP ever adding "part 2" on a major announcement. Not to say it couldn't or wouldn't happen, just that probability is very low. That said, I hope they prove me wrong.
I'm on vacation so it's hard to keep up with all the discussion that's going on but am I the only one that feels this whole thing is incomplete? I don't know I just was expecting a little more information. Did they even mention the new entrance? Sorry if this has been talked about. Everything just seems strange, even the animated video is really confusing.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!
Ok, if anyone has any idea about something that can be put in low cost, then OK.
The project increased $5 million, yes. Remember Ouimet was the one that originally said the price tag for this years project at an Erie County Breakfast.
The latest cost is $30 million. The ride is $26 million, the new front entrance, entrance plaza, rides entrance plaza and any sort of theming (plus queue etc..) will fall into the $4 million.
Maybe the full story will come into play for 2014.
I don't think there is a remote chance of this, but...
Wouldn't it be kind of neat if they paid homage to Disaster Transport by putting the final helix inside a building? I suppose it would ruin the atmosphere they are trying to create at the front gate.
I'd actually like to see an indoor helix that would allow non riders to go in and watch...sort of like while you are waiting in line for Space Mountain and you get to the open dome and can see the trains racing around.

It's not entirely unheard of to make two announcements. While it would be fantastic for them to also announce a family-friendly attraction, and they could wait till January if they wanted to, I doubt they will.
After spending $30 million on the coaster and main entrance, I'd have a hard time believing there's more.
But I definitely believe it could have to do with the ride. Things they're waiting on, plans that weren't finalized, stuff that just won't be known until winter.
