This is my idea that I'd like to see in a boardwalk. This design uses Intamin rides as refrence but cheaper/better counterparts can obviously be interchanged. This would also include the demolition of the All Wheels theater to be replaced with an updated beach theater.

This is a pretty cool idea. I don't think that CP will ever expand out into the lake though due to problems with construction rights and stuff like that which has been discussed before. If they do ever make a boardwalk, it will probably stay on the beach and probably won't get too close to breakers. I think the idea is really cool though. I like the jet ski coaster idea right on the lake. It would fit in with the theme. Cedar Fair hasn't been going with Intamin lately, but that doesn't mean that they can't, and like you said, they're just there as references. A wild mouse coaster I think would be a good fit on a boardwalk too. I think its a cool idea and I hope CP builds a boardwalk eventually.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to build a pier, but your plan has too many flaws. If they did this the pier would have to go away from the resorts not invade that space. You must not stay at the Breakers. If you had, you'd know that some of the places you'd like to build in are part of a resort. Thats part of the experience of staying there. If you haven't been paying attention they are renovating the resort area. I doubt they will take the beach out once they are completed or turn the beach into part of the park. It is part of the park, and partially responsible for the upcharge on a hotel room. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. But if you turned it into a motel 8 in the middle of the park I wouldn't want to be there.
It practically is a motel 8 at the park right now.
My suite at Motel 6 on Rye Beach & Rt 6 is better and cheaper than one of those rooms.
Next year after internal upgrades are done, we shall see what I think

"Better" is pretty subjective. There's a lot of value to be found in staying on-property, as the popularity of the resorts indicates.

Well, I'll put this into perspective of the differences:
Room cleanliness & amenities, outdated suite technology, half of the bldg is poor views (facing the parking lot), cleanliness (has to have two dings sorry, they have been bad), and price point
I'm sorry but for what you get at the resort, if I pay almost or more of the same price as the luxury villa I just stayed at during exodus last week. I paid 20 dollars more for the room price, that's it, but got heated towel racks, big shower, great bed, fireplace, lake view, complimentary drinks, breakfast, ect.
If you can't even offer amenities to match the price, sorry. When I can get the same room value from a hotel about 3-4 minutes down the road or less for about 1/3 of the price or so, then we have an issue.

I don't disagree necessarily - I wouldn't pay Breakers rates for what they offer either.
But you're ignoring the most important amenity of all - location. And it's clear by Breakers' reported occupancy that that amenity does match the price for a huge number of people.

I just don't get how staying on point is so...valuable..Four minutes of driving to a gate versus about 1-2 minutes of walking to a gate..whatevs
Like I said if the rooms do match the rates after next years refurb, I may stay, but if they don't, I'll enjoy Studio 6. The queen suite was actually very very nice. Only thing that sucked about them was the typical crappy indoor/outdoor carpet, but they may have switched that room to the wood flooring like the regular suites

It's because people these days are lazy. They want things to come faster and easier.
God forbid you actually have to switch disks on your new game consoles.
I guess you have a fair point. In my mind I can't justify spending 2x or so more just for being lazy.

That's not accurate.
4 minutes of driving to the gate, plus
1 minute of waiting at the gate (which is probably conservative), plus
3 minutes of finding a parking spot, plus
5 minutes to apply sunscreen, secure car, etc., plus
3 minutes of walking to the front gate
So, you're looking at 15 minutes saved on simply arriving at the park each day. For a family that may only visit the park once a year, that's significant.
Additionally, there's the added value (and this is arguably the most important) of being able to walk a few minutes from the gate and take a nap, change clothes, take a swim in the pool, etc.
But really, the value for an enthusiast such as yourself that visits several times a season is obviously going to be very different from those who make the trip only annually.

I like the plan, but totally agree that building into the lake would require all sorts of permits and invoke environmental issues.
If they did do something like this plan suggests and made it exclusive to Breakers room key holders, it would certainly make the on-property rooms much more desirable and the pricing more palatable.
Since CF is moving away from the pay one price admission model and up-charging for various levels of service and separate gate fees (Challenge Park, Soak City, Cedar Point, FastPass, & FastPass Plus) a premium perk for staying on the point certainly fits their operation and may very well be part 3 of the present 2 part Breakers remodel.
They could also run this section like the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas - with limited ticket sales for day visitors to cut down on overcrowding which would maintain a constant crowd level to keep the concession business profitable.
Let's face it, the beach access (as it now configured) really offers nothing that can't be found elsewhere in the area (at a much lower price) so they need to put some sort of value into that sand.
Separately, even after Breakers gets it's current facelift, CF needs to bring in more of the "Disney Resort perks" into staying "on property" Early entry and free parking just isn't enough incentive for most people to pay the premium price.
See I can get into the park and parked in that timeframe. I go all the way in the back by Gemini, easy to always find a spot.
If paying 2x more justifies 15 minutes at tops saved or a room and pool, so be it, I can't justify that.

The time saved by finding a spot more easily in the back is more or less eliminated by the time it takes you to get back there. :)
But you hit on exactly what I'm saying... You don't find value in the luxuries of staying on-property, because you are among the minority visit the park frequently. If you visited only every year (or less), you'd likely to find more value staying on-property.
And so far as pricing is concerned, I hope that with the renovations to Breakers, the rates will increase. It would seem silly not to.

It doesn't take extra time. That 15, 25, 35mph..Lol. Not further self incriminating :P
Take this years trip for me though. My first trip I thought would actually be my only trip being in upgrade training & a deployment band right after, I still stayed off point for that weekend. I didn't look at Breakers and say, hmm, that price is worth it if I stay once. The biggest add in extra I purchased was probably either the buffet, or a souvinier (sp) cup. Other than that, I really spent more money on random things in the park like beer, food, and on Saturday we payed for FL to see how it was.

It's not just the driving time, etc. Regardless of what you think of the rooms, the CP peninsula with the beach is just a beautiful place to be. Plus, it is a lot more fun to just walk to your room after the park closes and grab a beer and relax. I have a feeling that some of the development you will see at the resorts will make it even more fun to stay on Point rather than in some hotel in Sandusky.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I don't expect prices to drop being with the rennovations, have to pay that off somehow. But those ammenities had better be worth staying there. I stayed at Gervasi Vineyard in Canton, OH and was treated 200x better and had so much more to do than Breakers, but same price, one was rated a 4 Diamond by AAA, Breakers, probably not rated anything..

Been staying onpoint for 14 years now. Started as a yearly trip with friends/family. 7 of us would split the cost of a suite for 2 nights. It would be $100 per person. After about 6 years it became just my wife and I. We would stay in the old section because it was cheaper. Occasionally with the kids. We got our first season passes and started making multiple 2 night trips a year. We started taking our camper with us. I don't mind paying $70 a night for a campsite.
Being there for multiple days can be more relaxing. You don't have to be in a rush you can just enjoy it. In the summer theirs people playing volleyball. Swimming or Hottubbing. There's people drawing male members in the sand under Windseeker. On the beach wading. During the peak hours of the day. I love cooking steaks and potatos up while drinking a few beers that don't cost $8. It is very cheap to eat in the campgrounds. If I don't get a whole lot of rides in I will have tomorrow to do it. I don't turn the key to the car for 2 days. That's what I like best. I can get up from my chair and be on Magnum in less than 5 minutes. I can finish my 3rd ride on Thunder Canyon and be in dry clean clothes in 15 minutes.
I know you can change clothes in your car. I've seen grills out in the front parking lot. You can get a fastlane and not have to wait in long lines. But if you can afford the rates staying onpoint is worth the markup in price.
I saved my cousin $50 when he met us up there during halloweekends. I got his parking reimbursed because I didn't have to pay for parking. And he'd bought tickets on the internet prior to getting there even though I told him not to. He was alowd to purchase ticket at $34 and then refunded for the ones he'd bought. Saving $35. They also got 4 rides in before the park opened. 2 on Millenium, 2 on Maverick.
But it may be more difficult staying at Camper Village this year with the closing of the circle. Make your reservations soon.
