The definition here says it's an unbranded calf or cow. Not one of the definitions says a horse.

I'm not sure a dictionary definition correlates into the name of an amusement park ride. The definition as "unbranded cattle" when taken less literally it has more to do with the "edgy and rebellious" connotation of the word and the wild west in general. They weren't calling John McCain a cow...

If one had never even heard of a Valravn how could one know what colors would be an appropriate theme for a Valravn?
What's the big deal. I associate dark colors with things or creatures that have a dark connotation....and Valravn has a very dark connotation if you look it up. It's my opinion if I think that black and purple would fit it better. You don't have to agree. Sure lots of coasters in the park don't have colors that match their names. I was just stating what I thought would fit.

I don't think Cedar Fair still has the Centurion name, I saw somewhere they had a conflict and the rights to the name are no longer theres
Unfortunately you're right, after some research it appears Centurion is no longer a part of the park's future at least for the time being :( Apparently another pending request filed before Cedar Fair's for the same name has put things at a standstill. Interestingly this happened over a year ago. Did I miss this before on the boards or did nobody notice it then?
PRIOR-FILED PENDING APPLICATION(S) FOUND: The trademark examining attorney has searched the USPTO’s database of registered and pending marks and has found no similar registered marks that would bar registration under Trademark Act Section 2(d). TMEP §704.02; see 15 U.S.C. §1052(d). However, a mark(s) in a prior-filed pending application(s) may present a bar to registration of applicant’s mark.
The effective filing date of the pending application(s) identified below precedes the filing date of applicant’s application. If the mark in the referenced application(s) registers, applicant’s mark may be refused registration under Section 2(d) because of a likelihood of confusion with that registered mark(s). See 15 U.S.C. §1052(d); 37 C.F.R. §2.83; TMEP §§1208 et seq. Therefore, action on this application is suspended until the earlier-filed referenced application(s) is either registered or abandoned. 37 C.F.R. §2.83(c). I know this is a silly debate but Maverick is most definitely the horse. They say how quick Maverick is on all the commercials. And I'm pretty sure the cowboy is trying to catch the horse. Unless there's another cowboy/bandit on Maverick. But I still do not think thats the case.

Anyone else realize that, if in fact ,cedar point is getting a dive coaster next year, the park will have 5 coasters that exceed 200 feet?
5 coasters! Like, how many parks have 2 that are over 200 feet?!
Burritos, Inspiration Point, Fork Balloon Sports, Cards in the Spokes, Automatic Biographies, Kites, Kung Fu, Trophies, Banana Peels We've Slipped On and Egg Shells We've Tippy Toed Over
Better yet, why has no site prep been done? They aren't axactly known for mild winters. Shouldn't footers be in soon if it where to open on time?
Also rather strange that Clermont would want an entire coaster sitting around that isn't even close to installation.
It has been noted that this track is for Jureasic Park in Japan. I would think it has a better chance of being built all at once and shipped over as a complete shipment than them building this for CP without even having a single footer poured.
Site prep work has been done, they demolished GTT, moved Dodgems, removed TPC, and moved Calypso. Those were the biggest obstacles. DT was demolished in August the season before Gatekeeper opened and it still opened in time for the season. With no obstacles in the way, they can get right to work on it. I imagine they will start construction right around the time the announcement is made.

Honestly, if we're going to talk what colors would best fit a ride named "Valravn", easiest thing is to just think of the Roller Coaster Tycoon color palate. Basically, black or that really dark purple.
Helps that I had serendipitously named a suspended coaster Valravn in one of my RCT parks before this even became a thing.
