Must be some sort of game they play. Whoever gets a direct hit gets first dibs at the coveted spot by the garbage cans! 3 points for the shirt, 5 for the head. Kamikaze attacks are worth 20 and result in immediate victory...if you survive... :)
I got hit by a bird in the parking lot. It flew into my leg, fell down and kinda stumbled a bit, then flew off. It was pretty hardcore.
Oh and any time a bird would hit dragster, there wouldn't be any bird left... just bits and pieces.
A bird clipped skyhawk but was fine, and kept flying.
and then there was S.A.S...... :,( miss him...

Those Black birds last season were almost territorial... I probably got swooped at by three of them in one day alone.

Does anyone else who stayed in the Camper Village/LHP area remember a bird that attacked almost everyone who walked by last summer around late June? It stayed right around a the Ripcord exit and hovered above people until it would just finally dive down and peck at their heads. It even did it to me once.
^^I was hit in the back on the neck by one of those black birds while walking near Power Tower before Dragster was put up. Scared the crap out of me. The next year my sister was attacked by Millennium Force. Must be something in the genes.
In 2001 or 02 while waiting for the last seat on MF, the train that was unloading (the one I should have been on) was held up because the person in the front seat caught a seagull in the chest on the first drop.
The ride ops were not to happy about cleaning up that mess and the person that got hit looked about as green in the gills as possible without throwing up all over the station as one could.
Quite the interesting experience.
Beeeeehhhhhhh!!!!!
Every year a couple birds get hit by the cables on ripcord.
This one got its head cut off

Corkscrew had an attack seagull over the season. No joke, it was protecting its babies on top of the station. Rachel, Diego, and another baby seagull whose name can't be remembered.

I remember seeing that seagull with the nest on one of my trips. If I remember right, she was indeed being very protective......though it was her fault making a nest there.:)
And speaking of gulls, Cedar Point seems to have the largest gulls I've seen ANYWHERE! I've mistaken CP gulls for hawks and even eagels sometimes......sad on my part but true never the less.

The gulls are very protective when they are nesting. I was walking on the beach walk by Sandcastle once, and a gull swooped down and kicked me in the head with its feet.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
There was one afternoon where I was sitting at entrance (Blue Streak) and two managers came out from the Park Services area holding boxes above their head in a protective manner. Evidently, there was a very bitter or protective gull sitting on the roof of Pirate that had been swooping down on them back in the break area. It was rather amusing watching them run back and forth taking things to and from the warehouse covering their heads with the boxes they were carrying.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I was almost hit on blue streak by a gull on july 4th (I think) and it swooped down with its wings right in my face, that I could have grabbed them. :)
My sister was riding MF in the very back of the train and a gull smashed the front of the train. Good thing she was in the back......:)
Going down the hill toward the water on Mine Ride, my friend and I could see
ducky flying low over the water perpendicular to our path. We wern't in the
front row, but the people who were in the front row say they don't know how
we missed them.

The only thing worse than the gulls are the Canadian geese with their babies. Man those things get so nasty!! I remember how much the Mine Ride crew hated it when they had to do a track walk cause they would have to take a metal bucket and bang it to keep the geese away from them.
Something about "those geese could rip your arm off if they got ahold of it" ;)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
Someone did get smashed in the face by a goose on MF.
That's not a made up story. I was there when it happened.
I think it was 2006 but I'm not 100% positive. Apparently
it broke the persons nose. There was a lot of blood for the
staff to clean up.
A couple of years ago on magnum I was riding in the front seat and there was a bird on the track tward the end of the ride, and we hit it and it fell off the track. I think it died.

When you're eye level with them to begin with they don't have to "swoop" very far. ;)
