Birds???

Okay so, somebody told me a story this week about how many people get hit in the face with birds on roller coasters. I know it's possible (ask Fabio), but how often does it really happen? I've heard all kinds of stuff like people having "shattered" faces due to gulls on Millie and people being knocked out by sparrows on Dragster? Can anybody confirm these stories or are these some sort of urban myth???

I've also heard these stories, although I'm not sure people actually get knocked out from it. People can come off bloody, and you can see dead birds in the seats though.

I know that some birds get killed just by running rides empty... I remember maXair killed something like 3 birds before the park even opened... by the end of the season the tally was up to like 12 or something like that...

It's not the birds that get killed by the rides i worry about. It's the birds that poop on me that I want to kill.

i once saw someones foot hit a bird on raptor, kinda ironic, anyway the bird ended up on the midway near the turnpike cars.

I had to yank a pigeon out of the little "window" on the front of a Magnum train. It hit the bird during the ride, got wedged in there, and didn't die until after the ride was finished. The people in the front were mildly disturbed, lol.

That's awfull!! I hope it didn't hurt... when it was hit by the bird.

I once ground up a dead bird with the propeller of a kiddy boat ride at Conneaut lake Park.I did not know it was in there.

I was on Blue STreak 2 years ago and I was in the front row and I hit a sea gull. It was right after the turnaround. It hit me and just kept flying.

My mom got hit by a bird on Corkscrew like 3 years ago.

I didn't realize that that many get killed every year. That's crazy.

I was talking to a guy on opening day last year and he said he got hit by a duck on Millenniums island turn. Needless to say the bird was fine and flew away.;)

After that, my friend became obsessed with that story and made me make this.

Somehow I manage to get hit by bird crap at least once every summer. It never fails.

Sounds like bad karma to me.

Numerous times I come close to getting hit by a gull on the Blue Streak turn.

Also when I was at the park last summer one of the Dragster trains hit a bird during the launch. It was pretty messy. Good thing it was an empty run.

I lost a very nice shirt last year, a seagull left me a gift on my shoulder at Hurricne Hanna's. I cleaned it up as best I could, but the stain never did come out.

Better than getting hit in the face I guess though...

I suppose I'll have to start looking out for birds...and their...um....droppings...
