Best/Least Favorite Ride to work on

Speaking of matterhorn, I was thinking about it, getting to play with the lights, horn and music... I would have liked to add some more lights to it, to make it glow... some beamers, a DMX system, etc. tehehe

Worst- Matterhorn Triangle. I remember yanking the hand brake on the Scrambler hoping that it would break..no luck it just made a nasty noise when you did it...Dodgems II --I hated telling people to wait until the chain drops before going to the cars.

Worst- Giant Wheel (in 94).

Best- Raptor (in 94) being part of the original crew. What a rush seeing guests ride for the first time. I was on unload/pa for the first dispatch. John Riggleman took a few of us on it back in April of 94, before some of the station was even complete.

I agree with Georgina that Mean Streak is beautiful. It is my favorite ride. When I'm walking by that coaster I always say "look at her". In fact, I chose my GTTP screen name as "Ginger" because when my kids were small, they said Mean Streak was the color of ginger, and we've called Mean Streak "ginger" from then on.

Im so glad to hear that someone loves Mean Streak as much as i do Ginger. Most people on this site trash her. Its good to hear.

o god how could i forget... not matterhorn, but what's the other one that used to be with troika and chaos... that triangle last year.

well that ride just sucked. some of the bars were impossible to lock and it took forever. and forget trying to close the gate to load everyone, you'll be 1/2 way thru and someone comes up and wants on. so time consuming. especially since the ride is like 12 seconds long.

witches wheel takes forever too ... but that's not so bad cuz (well, i only did that as a work off a point thing 1 night, more time mightve sucked...lol) it just seemed like a few cycles and an hour already passed.

i would have to say my favorite ever to work is gemini. though that is an obvious coming from me- i did like the raptor the past two summers- the worst i have to say was camp shoot me, though in many aspects i would have to say gca 99 was the best for me over all just minus the team leader-and of course i loved being at MF in 2000- that was a great crew- just those damn long ass lines thaT never seemed to stop.....
I liked all the rides I worked this summer. Although I agree with Brat about KK Carousel and Tubs, do some people not care about their kids. The other position I didn't like was crowd at MF. People did not want to go into open rows. Also, when there was only 1 row left, and you asked the next person "how many in your group?", they always answered "2", and then got mad when you let them in and not the couple behind them, who are also in their group.

Overall though, it was the best summer, and I loved it.

the WORST place to work at cp will have to be tgi fridays on the beach or on cleveland road because they are open till 1 am every day and u dont get out of work sometimes till 2:30 am or something and after u get home u have to be there sometimes a 8 am
Hmm, sounds just like rides to me (esp MF & TTD)

Worst. Kiddy Kingdom and Camp Poopy. Parents are worse than the kids.

Best; Park Operations. The Supervisors are awesome and always willing to help you. Best ride, RAPTOR! I miss test riding in the morning! I wish I had the opportunity to work Millennium Force, Wicked Twister or Dragster, I think those would be awesome to work and TEST RIDE!!! :-) But beware of guest illnesses and funny ride op's who try to guess what the guest ate!

Alot of us liked "her" alot better in "her" earlier years. I agree, Mean Streak's structure is mesmorizing, but a coaster can't earn respect with heavy trims and shabby tracking at construction which has yielded a short-lived woodie. I've thought about wanting to ride op MS and make a joke of it, like saying it is the 147th best coaster in the world, but I think theres enough workers at CP that my doing that would be a bad move. But I'd still liek to ride op MS, I like that view of the lake.

The best coaster I worked on this past summer has to be magnum, it was just great. I loved workin on monster/witches wheel too. Its just the people your working with. Your crew makes or breaks your experience working at CP. Dragster was alright to work on, except all the guests askin when it would be running again....

TTD ride op sounds like a stressful job, with all that downtime. The ride is awesome, and I seriously envy the people lucky enough to test-ride! If I had a job at CP, I'd make up my own job as a test-rider. :)

Meanie is a good ride. Every time I'm in that area, I head over to the Mean Streak for a good ride with a good view. No trims would be so much better, though.

Millennium Force is MY baby.
Where would we be without CP?:)

My favorite place to work was Kiddie Kingdom. It explains probably why I would want to be an elementry school teacher. Hey somepeople like to stand there and help kids in and out all day.

My least favorite place had to be Mean Streak. The crew in 03 was great and it was so much fun getting our shirts done. I just never liked to be the test rider. I was more of a safety one person. Its a nice way to wake up in the morning to such a pretty view.

Can you guess who I am? If you can't go talk to my husband on MF!

I had the opportunity to work at GW triangle, matterhorn triangle, and cad cars and cedar downs. I had the most fun working on Mantis. The crew this past season rocked. I was up there all season but when I was it was fun.
Ok. THUNDER CANYON was the best ride to work BY FAR. I covered many rides for breaks last year and none are like TC. I mean where else are you gonna see the hotties in their bathing suits? DRY then WET?? Come on. The only bad thing was almost ZERO downtime. Which at times would be a pain. When weekends started I worked TTD. Now let's just say if it wasn't for the crew I was with that ride would have SUCKED working. It is EXTREMELY stressful with downtime, ppl. asking what's wrong, when this, when that. But who knows maybe they'll work the kinks out of the ride. But all and all the season ROCKED.

Hey, well, I guess I can take a shot at this.

Most favorite ride to work: Mean Streak. It's a medium paced ride (nowhere near as fast as Gemini with 6 trains, and nowhere near as slow as some of the circulars I've been on). I'd have to agree with Gina on the beauty of the ride! It's a marvel, and the view from the top of the lift and saftey 1 are MARVELOUS! Plus being in the back of the park and out to the side kind of makes the ride it's own little world. Fun to work, more fun to ride!

So you didn't like Matterhorn Triangle, Gina? Personally I thought working there on weekends was a godsend of peace from the sometimes crazy atmosphere of Mean Streak. I guess circulars don't appeal to everyone. Always had a blast on Matterhorn when there was a song I never heard before pop up.

Other rides I worked in '03: Gemini, TTD, Antiques Triangle (Pure agony! I don't wish this on anyone...), WWL, Snake River Falls, Cadillac Cars and Cedar Downs. The number was up there and I hope I'm not missing any rides...

TTD was fun, up until this one guy tried to attack me for pushing the bar down... It's a really exciting and fast paced ride!
