Welcome back Millennium Force riders...We all want to know how was your RIDE!!!!! *** This post was edited by Hooper on 3/28/2000. ***
what is faviotirte?
Well, the best part USED to be in the queues of room #2 watching the video screen next to "Dave" the robot. It was cool seeing the not-so-special effects, like when you saw the pilot in the cockpit of a transport being attacked, and the asteroids or attacking alien space ships were being pulled up and down in the background with strings, kind of like a B-movie, which is the effect, I think, the park had in mind: a campy space adventure. "Thank you for flying DISPATCH- DIS- DI-DI-DI-DISASTER TRANSPORT," as "Dave" has said...

Y'know, I never spent enough time in that room ("CONTROL ROOM")to know much about what went on there. On the other hand, I have spent hours (total) in the "REPAIR BAY" listening to FRANC complain, in some cases about DAVE. I concluded that FRANC's personality is modeled on that of Marvin from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." I mean, they are both chronically depressed, surrounded by idiots, and stuck in menial dead-end jobs...

I do miss the explosion just after the mid-course brake, though...

Definately the old school robots and such that were in the queue line, but since that's gone now, I guess I'll just have to accept the AC.

I may work here, but I still think "Altitude with Attitude" beats anything that "Rules the sky".
The campy theming, when it was working, was cool. Now, the A/C...

It IS still a fun ride, though.
Getting off it.
When D.Transport was Avilanch Run did it have any themeing. And was it a better ride than D.Transport now?
As Avalanche Run the themeing was as follows:

o The station had an 'alpine' look to it...you know, the stucco-and-beam appearance with the shake roof. If you go up the Space Spiral you can still see some of the shakes on the roof behind the steel facade. It looked a little like the decoration on the Hofbrau stand across the main midway.

o The vehicles had national flags on the hoods so that they would look like Olympic bobsleds.

That was pretty much it, just like the themeing of CP's other coasters.

--Dave Althoff, Jr.
RideMan, you are propably going to be the one who knows what I am talking about. They need a robot that is modeled after Zaphod Beeblebrox.
I have to agree with NELSON....the exit is the best part :)

No, actually...Disaster Transport is alright, but when you wait for 45 minutes in those small walkways you kinda feel like cattle going to be butchered. I try to avoid this ride at all costs!

If they would just add some effects and sound it would be better. I just think CP could use a better, or another indoor coaster.
Nah, what they REALLY need is a robot modeled after Eccentrica Gallumbits...

Oh, wait, this is a family park. Nevermind... ;)
For those of us who, sadly, never got to see the old Disaster Transport, what was it like, and just for fun, does anyone remember all three robots names?
