Well that's that. You can disagree all you want, but don't call a moderator a stupid drunk.

You've been voted off the island. Weakest link. No more lifelines. You overbid. Three strikes. No Whamies no Whamies, stop!

VillianLover, you are just too full of prejudices and stereotypes to ever see anything past your own nose.

Your comments, and rejection, of the various posts here, that explain why social drinking on the CP midway is fine, says a lot about your attitude.

The act of reproduction does not give someone training or insight on being a good parent, and you have not stated anything to make me think you are. You can get off your high horse thinking that people will support your view point if they have children.

Being a good parent is much more than protecting children from harm. It's all about preparing children for life, which includes exposing them to all the diverse aspects of our society. Not about keeping things hidden as forbidden fruit or as being nasty and evil. Kids find out about all kinds of things from various sources, it's much better for a parent to explain what is going on than to try to hide and shelter them.

I won't respond to the rest of your rant, other than to say that you sound like a little kid.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Disabled guests have something that looks like a calendar of sorts. They get stamped with times when they can come back to the ride and get on. They wait, just not in the queue.

I don't have a problem with beer in the park, I like it. I don't want to see it turn into a beer bash though. You are right, at $7 a glass who could afford to get hammered at that price. Though I do remember having a lot of fun hammering down a 6-pack and riding Demon Drop several times back when it debuted. If I recall correctly, we used to bring our own beer into GL back in the early 1980's (at least that is what I remember).

When you guys disagree, please do it respectfully and ignore the ones that don't. If you don't acknowledge the bad comment, it should end at that. Many mean comments to VL only fueled the fire. Please play nice!

Except that I see many people at sporting events who are smashed and paying just as much for beer. So its not price that stops people. What stops people is the environment. One, zero tolerance for drunken behavior will stop people at CP. Two, most just don't associate coaster riding with drunkenness.

And I will continue to call someone out when they talk from their backside. Whether my tact succeeds or not remains to be seen.

Yeah, I've gotten plenty drunk on $12 drinks before. So, the price isn't really relevant. Like John said, Cedar Point just isn't an environment that breeds drunkenness. If you want a drunken debauchery, all you have to do is head to Put-In-Bay. Talk about an embarrassment to Ohio.

I don't get the concerns about drunkeness, I assume CP food service personel are trained to refuse to sell to anyone that appears drunk anyway, and beer is currently available. So its available on the midway, big dang deal, if someone wanted to be drunk now they'd make their way from selling point to selling point. Seeing people walk along with beer doesn't detract from the family atmosphere, its pretty much just normal. And yes, VL, I have kids. And I'm an awesome mama.

For the record - I also have 2 kids, 10 and 8 and I support selling beer at CP. I guess that makes me a bad parent too. Whew, I feel better now that I admitted that. I wish I was perfect too.

You hit the nail on the head. CP's environment has been very nice and I rarely see disorderly people, I just want it to stay that way. In past times, binge drinking was the norm, in many public places and I myself was one of the bingers. This is not conducive to a healthy family environment. Moderation is.

Damn it. No wonder I am a blithering idiot - it's because I don't drink :(

Okay, so I know I never was very involved in the CP Place community (just a lurker for the most part), and I haven't even been around these boards lately. However, this is probably one of the funniest posts that I have ever read. We've got this future BYU graduate (that joke was hilarious) over here telling people how they should act regarding everything from throwing a few back to swearing in public (need I mention that he bashed Pete; a 8 year member of the board, and Jeff; the board's mod). Then we have Ben who says that he would LOVE to be distracted by lesbians. All of this surrounding other people contributing to the hilarity. Anyways I, for one, think that a swim-up bar sounds like a GREAT idea. Thank you all for contributing to this wonderful post. Just wanted to add my $0.02.
