Hey everyone Im new. Have a few questions. What does a sweeper do at cp. How is housing? How is it set up? Whats it like at cp? I recently got hired.

A sweeper sweeps up trash and answers questions for guests on the midway.

Housing options range from okay to just bearable, according to the majority. The units in Cedars and Gold are old, small and a bit dirty. Commons is a little cleaner and has air conditioning - this is a must.

Cedar Point is a job like no other. You'll work hard and likely play even harder. The experience, in my opinion, was worth it, but it is what it is, really: a minimum-wage job.

Good luck!

hey what up I recently got hired in as a nightly building cleaning attendant. Third shift of course. I start stupid early but I am excited. March 27 is when I process in and my last day is november 1. Does anyone know what my job is and what your are supposed to do?

Park Services 2009 ❇Ready to return in 2015❇

Its prolly like any other typical janitorial position.

im not sure

What are the 1st three days like at cedar point? Anything I should know? What r the ins and outs of cedar point?

1st day will involve doing the whole "process-in" run-around. This is where you will start at HR, do your paperwork and get your ID picture taken. Then it's off to company training office to schedule your company training, wardrobe, your home department office, toll plaza (to get your parking sticker if you have a car) and finally to housing.

2nd day will typically be your first day of work and will involve training for your shop/attraction/job. Ideally, you'll do your classroom training (cash registers, alcohol and food handling policies, etc., depending on department), and then, depending on your function, this can involve anything from being handed a broom and shown where to sweep, to learning about all of the safety procedures that go into running a ride.

Due to the training cycle, you might not get to do all of your training in the first day or two. In rides, this means that you can't touch any controls and will likely be assigned to so something like entrance until you pass your operating test. In merchandise, they will probably still let you work as normal and give you a quick 5-minute overview until you can do the full training.

On-location training times do vary widely depending on location. For something like taking tickets, you only need 5-10 minutes worth of training unless you're really slow on the uptake or something. On the other hand, at Ripcord it takes anywhere from 1-2 weeks to fully train someone in all the positions, sometimes longer depending on how fast (or slow) the person learns. Skycoaster requires employees to have 8 hours of training at each of the 4 positions before you can work a position alone.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

^Ripcords ride manual is at least 4 times as thick as anyone elses.

Easily. But most all manuals are not the actual manual either, but rather one made up by Cedar Point Rides. The Rip Cord test is also a lot more involved than any other ride.

In rides you learn the ride area, do a lift walk if your ride has a lift, learn controls as long as it is not a coaster (Test Required to run controls on a coaster), safety procedures, and paperwork.

Witches Wheel has a 54 inch height requirement, I don't care if your child rode Dragster, Magnum or, Millenium, they are not tall enough for this one!
