ATL, TL, Blue Tags, Red Tags?

I didn't mean who you are as a person, I meant as an employee. There also is all that info about your name, dept, and school/town. When you glance at someone's tag, you can tell if they're a lead, a minor, or a crew member, and where they work.

Now you can, yes. Not too many years ago ('96, '97ish) you couldn't -- all it would have is the color (which you'd only know if you were aware of the system), their name, and where they were from. No department, no location, nothing else. But this system works a bit better now with the greater number of employees and the more mobile population (transfers, getting around zones more, etc.).

Does any know if you're 17 and housing at Cedar Point if you get a dark green or a red tag?

First off, to live in C.P. housing, you must be either over 18, or 17 and graduated highschool. In either case, you will have a red tag. I was told that no one living in housing was to have a green tag for curfew reasons. Minors can't stay out all night like my friends and I did, (It was tons of fun shopping at Wal Mart at 3 in the morning...) and that is just another way for personel to seperate the 'men from the boys', so to speak...

Housing: $30 a week
Food: $0.50 a buritto
time spent at C.P.: Priceless

Sorry but I just said "that I was a dark green tag in 98' and lived in CP housing"..So dark green tag is able to live in CP housing (as long as you grad. high school).

They changed that, if you are 17 and going to live in housing, you will have a red tag and not a dark green tag.

That would be a good question to ask though. Or do you know..Since the person isn't going to turn 18yrs old during their contract period if they still get a red tag? Or is it just a housing issue?

I believe you have to turn 18 during your contract to get a red tag and to live in housing.

I wonder if I am gonna be on the Discovery Channel soon.

You have to have a red tag to get past the desk in housing so if you're 17 and you are living in CP housing, they give you a red tag.

In 2002, I only worked at CP untill the end of august. I turned 18 at the end of september that year, and I had a red tag the whole time. Kevin is right in that they won't allow green tags passed the desk (at least that's what I've been told).

Daredevil I was wondering the same thing. I just figured after reading a lot of posts that red tags are for new employees. Like Mathew said, as a guest I never noticed what color an employees name tag was or if they had their first and last names on it or just first. I usually was looking at where they were from, since Cedar Point seemed to have hired people from everywhere.
I think when they had the whole name tag a solid color it was to identify with the guest the persons status. But now with the little bar its mostly for the employees.

I think the tag hierarchy is a good idea. Since everyone on a crew wears the same uniform, it can help new employees identify who is most likely to give them the best information when they need help. The tag colors don't really do anything for guest relations since most guests don't even notice that different colors exist...usually if they ask for a supervisor and the TL or ATL comes up, they get confused because they don't see a different uniform.

Yeah, my bro was 17 and lived in housing last summer. He had a red tag.

Wow. This thread was a year old and you replied to it like you were continuing the conversation. That takes skill...

Haha, I probably would have done the same thing.. I never look at the dates on these things :)

Yeah..Beware of the "fake" red tags at CP..these are described as the red tags who are only 17..they can get you into lots of trouble! Just passing this on from fellow friends....You wont find these green tags anywhere but foods or sweeps. They aren't allowed to operate a ride in the park, but they can be found in the caf, sweeping a midway, doing garbage, etc. If you're anything above a green tag..stay away as far as a relationship is concerned. Not only does is tell employers who these peeps are, its lets fellow employees know that these green tags are major RED flags..lol!

Cedar Point is the only place I know where Red means go and Green mean stop! LOL! (and blue means proceed with caution)

:) hehe- nice!

The only ride you can work and be 17 is the CP LE Railroad. If your 17, you get a red tag too
