The only problem I have had was earlier this summer on Skyhawk the Ride Op stapled me so bad I couldn't breathe. I ran into a sup and told him because The Ride Op wasn't supposed to staple like that if at all..
Don't think you're the only one getting stapled...

Maintenance has been known to leave extra things (wheels, tools, rolls of duct tape, cotter pins, bolts) in the trains in the morning. That doesn't make getting drilled by any one of these things any more fun and I think they should take better care, but I'd say there's a 95% chance it was something like this and not something breaking off mid-ride.
I can believe that...
A little off-topic, but when I went on the tour of the WDWRR they took us to the round house, and the monorails are kept above the trains. Well, they told us that should a monorail come out, to be sure we weren't standing under it, because a couple of days earlier one had dropped a nut with about a 1 foot diameter.

I'm really glad Flight of Fear took out their otsr. You used to bang your head around when it first came out. Lapbars are a lot more comfortable, and more scary.

Haha wow! :) Sounds like the drive wheels on Raptor! ;)
I always make sure to staple myself on Skyhawk first becasue I don't want them getting a "running start" going toward my well you know. They have been being rather brutal every time I have ridden this season.

A few years ago I was riding Vortex at Kings Island and on the hill just before the corkscrew the otsr opened up. After two or three attempts to close it, it finally latched. This is the one and only time I had a close call on a ride.
I have ridden Vortex since.

The odds of both failing at the same time are very high.
I believe you mean "very low." ;)
Adam, did the restraint open completely? I know when I rode it the restraint opens maybe and inch which I thought was odd but it was still latched.
I've never really had any safety related problem at the Point, but reading about the Togo standup coaster accidents at the Paramount parks were a little worrysome. Its like the peple just fell out. Don't most of the OSTRs secure riders around their waists just like a lap bar?
Thrills Around the Corner!
The CCMR pond is like two inches deep the wheels might sink in the ground (if there isn't a concrete ground) and thats it. When I was there it rained so much that the water came up and covered the rail at the helix and that long banked straight away.

I am aware of the stapling that goes on on Skyhawk however (I should of clarified this before) instead of pusing down on the bar he jumped up on it and used his body weight to staple it down. THis happened my second time on it. My first time the Ride Op (differant one) did it properly and I had no problems.

It always seemed that Arrow ride restraints didn't lock solid. I remember the airtime hill on CS being and the restraint being real jittery.
