From what im hear there are construction markings in the Antique Car area. Is that true and if it is do you think it will be removed for next years roller coaster(s)?
Bring back Boblo!
It is true there are a few construction markers around the Antique Cars. There are some wooden stakes along with spray paint markings on the ground from what I understand. From these few markings, I don't believe it will be removed, but only time will tell. However, I do believe that the Antique Cars is one attraction that could be removed without a ton of people noticing. The average guest most likely often confuses Antique with Cadilac Cars, and I don't think removing Antique Cars would draw too much attention (I didn't say everyone wouldn't notice). Who knows though. *** Edited 5/31/2006 9:27:03 PM UTC by Top Thrill 182***
Thrills Around the Corner!
I don't think it will be removed for the roller coaster they are currently building, however, I think it may be removed per a bigger overall site plan.
I love Antique Cars.
Sure, it's a little big, but it's one of the best rides that brings out Frontiertown. It just all fits like a glove on a hand.
And yes, there are 3 different car rides. I'm willing to bet one of them gets booted within the next five years, but it will not be Antique.

The car lines also all have ungodly long lines whenever its crowded due to bad capacity. *** Edited 6/1/2006 2:37:02 AM UTC by Fastball84***
Is there a difference between the two antique car rides at all? I always thought they were the same.
The layouts are different.

Maybe it will get redone a bit. Maybe it will get a new roadway and take you under and around cetain parts of the ride. When they built raptor didn't they reduce the size of cadilac cars and it's basically underneath raptor's cover-roll.
The layouts are different.
ok..
Not to mention the area of the park they are in.
hmmm.
i think we can lose one.
they need to get rid of those horrrible antique cars and put something new and exciting for the family to do... antique cars are dirty, smelly, and LOUD. they could really re-theme that whole area into a pirate themed zone... have some great family rides/attractions back in that area, I know cedar point doesnt do theming very well... but cmon how hard is it to do a pirate theme?!

99% of the time a pink marker is used for marking gas lines. There are regulations on how far out they have to be marked from where the proposed digging is. It shows the direction of travel of the pipe underground as well as allows for a little wiggle room in the dig. If anyone else works in the public utililities field they'll know exactly why it's marked that far out.
This would be the reason for markings outside of the construction site.

Ride on, MrScott!
I never realized the Antique Cars hurt the park. I always thought they gave the park some atmosphere with the sound and all.

Yeah let's remove the Antique Cars because they give ambience to the area! Let's add something pointless like a lemon chill building that I can hang around outside of and pose to my middle school buds!
Or let's just leave the most beautiful ride in the park alone and call it good.
Just get rid of the anique cars in the back because they have two already, and that woud be a perfect spot for something to be built there and... for loopy why are there just markings around the Anique cars and not anywhere els is this the only spot in the whole area that the gas lines run through(dought it)
