Another Rumor For The Fire

There's enough room between the mine ride and snake river falls (I think that's it) to send a coaster through there, to the island, and back. While I think that idea is far fetched, I'm just saying it's possible.

That would freak me out....taking a leisurely ride on CCMR, misaligning my spine & screwing up my knees, only to be have some space-age rocket come blasting by at 85 mph!

I do love the idea of integrating the two. Ya'll are making me want to make a trip to the Point.

Don't let up on the lovin'

Uh......Did you miss the HUGE swing they just installed between Snake River Falls and the Mine Ride? That might pose some clearance issues if a coaster were to fly through there.

btw, I said "fly" as in speed, NOT as in a flying coaster. LOL!! :)

My opinion is outdoor construction workers will be cold no matter where they are in the midwest, so you could point anywhere. I believe you have seen the extent of the ride area. I don't see why anyone thinks it will be longer. Yeah they have to build a photo, gift, line area but there is tons of room for that without moving or getting rid of anything. We knew about WWL pretty quick if you remember, contest and all.

2006 One Long visit

I visited the park two weeks ago and had to laugh at the one item that really does have some creditablity. The Mine Ride does actually seem to be sinking. If you take a look at the footers that are in the water they are almost totally submerged! Water is within inches of the steel and it doesn't look like they are a bit concerned about it. Perhaps there is a reason for this but the lake level is at an all time low. Can anyone explain why this might take place? Perhaps someone can take and post some pictures to demonstrate what is happening here?

^ Are you looking at Last years map? Because that is right where Sky Hawk sits.

Didn't they just have a ton of lumber out in the parking lot last year that's gonna be used for refurbishing the mine ride?

I seem to remember reading that....

Could the water be rising up on the CCMR due to fluxuation in weather?

So now the Magnum :) and the CCMR are sinking?

It would be a tight squeeze between those two, and probably would have to overlap snake river falls to get through there, but eh. I'm not saying put elements there, just a path to the island. Of course, a safer direction, but one that looks less likely, would be the opposite side of snake river falls from the mine ride and skyhawk. Just have to find a way over the midway and stuff, and the footers over the pond seem to indicate they aren't going that way, so it looks even less likely.

Like I said, just saying I think these things are possible, but I don't expect them. :)

I don't about know sinking, but I know the structure itself moves and shakes as the car comes around the corner near the ramp/queue going into the station. I never remember CCMR doing that in the past (although I probably wasn't watching that close).

I highly doubt they'll be getting rid of it for many reasons (smaller/family ride, # of coasters in park, etc).

IMHO, I think Project2007 is going to stay within its current confines...

Freako,

I believe it's always shaken like that. If the structure can't flex, it's more likely to snap or fracture. Hope that helps :)

Mark

Ya know, I noticed the exact same thing about the absurd flexing of CCMR right be the queue this summer. Usually I'm not WAITING for the ride, so maybe that's why I never noticed, but it moves a LOT. More than I would think is required. Also, I noticed one of the footings right there is new. Right before you enter the building on the left, you can see one of the footings/support pieces is new(er). I'm sure it wasn't JUST done, but I could tell it wasn't original.

But yeah, CCMR aint going anywhere. :)

The worker obviously was referring to the work that has to be done on Magnum this offseason, since it's sunk so low this year...CP actually changed the height number on Magnum this year...

If you look at the layout of the new ride it is highly unlikely that it will travel outside of the current project area. You can make out almost exactly which general direction it will go.

As for what might be going on, to, or around mine ride I have no idea but I stronly doubt that it will have anything to do with the red thing.

It was for Gemini. See the Blog Entry: New for 2006! and scroll down to the bottom where they explain the clues they left.

One more thing. Remember all that wood we found? Well, occasionally, our wooden roller coasters need some rehab. The lucky recipient of this particular wood will be our 27-year-old racing wonder, Gemini

Everyone is definately done about MS or CCMR leaving, I'm getting so sick of every time someone says they hear something someone says ohhh so now they are definately getting rid of this ride because some workers were talking about a different site(which we dont even no if is true). Then, everyone says no I like that ride I hope they don't get rid of it and other people saying it's a small little coaster that no one likes or it's to rough and I wish they would get rid of it. Then someone on this site is going to start a stupid thread that says "THE END OF CCMR?" Just like the person who made one about MS. It's not going to happen!!!! Why would you just randomly say ohh well they're talking about a different site so i guess CCMR is gone because the ride (IN THEIR OPINION) sucks and so they must be getting rid of it??? Then someone else says they don't like it either and it should be taken down and then people actually start believing it's getting taken down...It is a good ride for people that are scared of heights and kids to go on. I still try to ride it everytime i go just because it's something different even though i have a little trouble fitting in being 6'1". Please do not start a thread on CP getting rid of it, IT WON'T HAPPEN ANYTIME SOON!!!!

Perhaps because they've started the construction so early. If there isn't more to come for this coaster, and by that I mean expansion into another area, then this thing is gonna be done by October.

Are you sure? I mean, there could be dozens of reasons why they still have work to do if this doesn't leave the current site.

The most obvious piece of evidence that it won't leave the area is that there are no footers that indicate it will leave the site. Those footers would have to have been poured already - there's just no getting around it. And, no, they're not waiting to pour the footers until the off-season to keep it a secret.

This ride will stay within the confines of the site.

I know that I ride it once on almost every trip. And I sure hope I can take my kids on it in the future.

I think it is ridiculous that the height requirement for that ride is 48 inches. I wish they would lower it down to 44 or 48 inches, and if the seats aren't designed for it they should upgrade them to. *** Edited 8/29/2006 9:53:51 PM UTC by draggy and milly 120 93***

The only other things I can imagine that they havent started would be continued "general" improvements to Frontierland. That is; expanding the new lighting, theming, maybe improving the buildings here and there, etc...that I would expect. Actually, I have always thought this is the reason they started to early on Maverick, so that during the rest of the offseason, not only can they finish what is left, having much of the "heavy" construction done or at least started, but also they can focus on the hunderds of "little" improvements they have planned for the whole area. I think it is possible that we will see more of a facelift to this area of the park, but I find it rather erroneous to assume that there is some secrective part of Maverick that has yet to be revealed. They are building it right in front of everyone for Christ's sake...what's to hide?
