Announcement

Not unless you'd count overbanked turns.

Goodbye MrScott

John

I wouldn't mind seeing around 500 feet. I really want a 500 feet roller coaster really soon.

I wouldn't. I guess that's a no.

I guess it's a .5 inversion.

2000: Gemini
2001: Gemini ATL

Put it this way, on MF, you are 30 degrees past horizontal. On the new ride you are 5 degrees past horizontal. So I wouldnt count it.

The one question I have is will the newspapers have it tomorrow morning? I know past announcements have always been in the paper the same morning, so I wouldn't expect this one to be any different.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I wouldn't be too quick to call it Maverick either. Thats just my educated guess. I would hate to tell you I told you so.

Hey TTD_120, I'll pull an "all-nighter" with you. I don't have to be at work until 1pm.

Tubular dude!:D
Hopefully it is around 3 because that's usually when I go to bead anyway so it'll work out and I wont have to resort to an "all nighter".

Though I might end up being to excited to sleep........it's a win/lose situation.:)

Oh and John, it would actually be from the excessive exposure of 120mph winds, not hydraulic "fumes"........I'm use to those.;)

I guess I can pull an all nighter tonight. I'm working on a project for personal use and it's turning out to be as difficult as I expected. Lucky for me I have a night class only tomorrow and I don't have work either.

Hah I have classes starting at 10 tomorrow, but I will be here anyway. Just going to go to sleep early and wake up at 3:20 for the big news!

Someone told me that no one "cares about the name of it." (I thought it would be funny if they weren't naming it Maverick.) So always be careful of what you say on here.

For the record, I am, in fact the Vince who asked the question. You can all thank me later. ;) Anyway, I'll have to get up a bit earlier than normal. I'll check it out before work.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

A little birdie told me that the press will know at 3:30am on the 7th.

I'm still wondering if "everyone" will know at 3:30, or if they will give the press some time to work on their stories before posting it for everyone to see.

I work third shift, so I'm sure I'll be rabidly refreshing the CP site all night.

Alright, so maybe that's an exaggeration...but they'll be lucky if I happen to get anything else done.

I'll find out when I get off work at 7AM, unless my supervisor can use her awesome powers to get off the corporate intranet and out into the WWW for some news.

The reason I said that is because the name doesn't matter. People will love it or hate it regardless of its name, although I'm sure plenty will complain about it being named Maverick, or UberBroncoCoaster or whatever.

Brandon

The name is definately Maverick.

I just hope their server is up to the traffic it's about to be hit with.

If you guys plan on having an all night party, how about we start an announcement chat room on AOL? I don't know anyone half as interested in Cedar Point as I am, let alone having an all night party over the announcement of a new ride.

Trust me, their server is well up to it....
