IMO, I doubt the date the timer is set to is significant to the real announcement.

It just doesen't really make sense. The ride would be over half built IMO, its just not a good time for an announcement.

Everyone is going to be focused on the holidays. Besides, you would think they would make an announcement before accurately setting the timer instead of being quiet about it.
