I only hurt from my turnstile injury. OUCH!
(Those who did not know me, this is the large quiet man in the Gray MF shirt)
My strategy was to Ride Red side single, dash of the platform and ummm, "jog" to get back in line. I did not stop for anything except people puking and slow people in line who think walking under Gemini to get on is just so great. When the stoppage in play occurred, that's when I got drinks, but no food. The only thing I ate all day was a French fry from Dan (thanks :) )
Not to sound full of it, but Dan and I were ahead of the pace most of the time. One funny part when was Dan was one lap behind me and snuck in on the red train, while I waited for the next blue. Of course someone puked so they stopped him on the lift why they cleaned up so I passed him :). I took most of my laps either with him, with CPointer, or by myself single. Here is the play by play
laps (approximation)
1-5 Red Side open with a 3 train operation. Wait not bad, but not good.
5-25 Both sides 3 trains. First time I got in a groove.
25-Someone got sick which caused a set on red, later blue went down.
25-70- This is when I went into a zone and just went on a tear. Got my 50th by a little after 4pm, so I was actually a bit off the pace for 100. When I heard that some were as much as 5, 7, and 10 behind Dan and I, I seriously doubted they could get 100. I even doubted if I could get 100
.
60- Another puke'r which caused a stoppage on red :(. If you cant handle Gemini for one lap, go ride the smaller Gemini (Mine Ride ;) )
70ish- They Transfer off a set which took 10 minutes.
75ish, is when I suffered my turnstile Injury. My right leg got jammed becuase the turnstile was still swinging when it went in. So it was jammed between the knob and the side, and I have big legs. Had to hobble a little for the next few lap, and it still hurts!
70-98. Vintage Gemini-This is were everyone I think had awesome times in the last few hours. No wait, and most of the time we caught the next train loading. Shivering Tim, our commentator with the palm pilot (probably had a telestrator in that pouch too) said that at one time Dan and I had 5 minute laps! (thanks to Scott by the way ).
99-done at about 9:15, first time I breathed all day.
100-Everyone took their 100th for the last ride of the night. I sat in 1-3, which I think if you ride there makes Gemini a very great ride! Plenty room with the bar and I was ejected and then floated over every hill.
Notes-
I held up well I think, I felt better after 100 than on 30! I think everyone else did feel better later.
Trim Brake's are good when doing this sort of thing.
LuvRaptor- Sam is indeed Cool. I only took a few laps with her, but she was very energetic and funny. Especially during the transfer of trains when she told peeps it would be 2 hours and they went away!
Baseball is a good game.
I held on except for the last lap and to smack hands!
I look more Native American than usual ( I am a bit anyway), my eyes were super dry, and I probably did not smell too good later in the day.
"Gemini was great!"
