An New Idea - Dancing

You guys have fun at your adult bar, while I ride coasters, the reason why I go to CP.

That's the point. Now go the &%@$ to sleep!

No offense to anyone who lives in Sandusky, but the surrounding community, other than a few nice neighborhoods, don't look very family friendly let alone safe to walk around at night.

Most of Sandusky seems pretty nice (Cedar Point Road, main stretch of Milan Road). The one part that seems a little run down is near the Days Inn on Butler & Cleveland Road.

Since many of CP's guests are from the Metro Detroit area, I don't think "dangerous" ranks among the first 2,000 things we think about when it comes to Sandusky.

The pony is a fun place to go after the park is closed. they have much cheaper beer and good food as well as bowling and lazer tag and games.

I would be all for a night club bar at the point if the beer was not so much. i mean i buy a few beers when i go but i would not want to hang out and pay that kinda price all night.

Even the Pony shuts down relatively early. I know I've had issues with going there not long after the park closes only to be told the kitchen was already closed. The whole damn town is that way.

Which sucks quite badly when you get out of the park late during Halloweekends, only to find out that the town is basically shut down when you want something to eat.

Cedar Point has Club Blood! Duh!

Yah, don't even get me started on how hard it is to find a place to eat during Halloweekends. Your options are basically wait an hour for a table at Dianna's or Steak n Shake, or if you're lucky, you might find a drive through somewhere that's still open.

Isn't there a BWW in Sandusky? They're usually open late, and have pretty tasty food.

There is, but good luck getting anything from that particular location late night. The service is consistently among the worst I've ever received anywhere, and the kitchen and bar both shut down at arbitrary times that are earlier than what's listed at the door. If you are lucky enough to get served, be prepared to wait at least an hour.

Twice I've been seated and placed an order, only to be informed afterwards that the kitchen staff was going home for the night and wouldn't be making my food. A third time my group placed drink orders, then our waiter disappeared for 20 minutes, then came back and informed us that the bar had just closed (15 minutes after we put our orders in) and we would not be getting our drinks.

I hear that Ralph! I actually don't recall ever having anything but bad service at any BWW. But the Sandusky location in particular is by far the worst. Back when I worked at the park, we tried to have crew dinners there but after a few tries we gave up. I do still enjoy the food but I now only get it to go.

Service at our Ferndale BWW is usually fabulous. Then again, there's a very high level of competition from restaurants in the area. We're spoiled with fantastic eateries.

Our service at BWW it's also excellent. Nice to know about the Sandusky location though.

When i want to bdubs i got my food and beer fast. i did sit at the bar but i was past 12

I liked the original idea of this thread, a place for teenagers to dance. There could also be a separate location for adults. Parents can go have their fun while older kids can have fun too. If you appeal to both of these age groups I think there would be an even greater appeal for this idea. Also, have there be a decent upcharge to get in, and sell food and drinks at each location, and I could see the park making a lot of money. Have both the adult and teen dances/clubs open at closing, and maybe close the teen one maybe an hour or two prior to the adult one. This whole concept I think would entice more people to stay at the resorts and would likewise spend more money. If it is planned well, I could actually see something like this working.
