Alcohol permitted in queues this year.

I think you should be able to take your beer in line with you just as long as your responsible. It's been disappointing when your thirsty and you choose beer instead of a soda and you can't enter and have to down it or pour it out. I like to drink a few before i ride .

My friends and I feel naturally drunk right after getting off the Raptor, so there is no need for me to drink :)

^^ - the problem is that this country is full of retards who have been taught that they don't have to be responsible for anything. And unfortunately, society reinforces that thinking.

first of all if you drink a beer or a soda when you are thirsty it will just make you MORE thirsty!!!! beer and soda dehydrates you and will not quench your thirst. i suggest a nice cold bottle of $5 water from the queue vending machines lol.

All I can say is this is going to seriously screw up the pH in the surrounding landscaping soil. . .

I think somebody mentoned this earlier, but I believe it is money related. If you go to a Major League Baseball game, how much is beer these days? 5-6 dollars right. CP can sell beer for about that price (higher knowing them) and they will. The question I have is are they trying to offset the loss of attendence because of the economy by trying to sell more alcoholic beverages?

Being able to take them in line won't make sales go up. It will only cut down on the confrontations at the queue entrance when Drunky McDrunkerson finds out he can't take it in.

I personally disagree with any food or beverage, in the queue lines. Anyone ever heard of eating at a table? Yea, I will get a soda, in line occasionally, but its usually downed quickly. The trash cans in line fill up way too fast, There are countless times on the ramp of MF that bottles are all around the full trash cans. So even more garbage will be thrown in places that don't get much cleaning attention already. I just recently realized that eating in the queue line is O.K. I never knew we could take the food in line. I finished my food then got in line. (20 minutes wasted) when I could of been strolling,

^^^ Beer is $6.75 at Jacobs errrr Progressive Field this year. I don't remember what CP charged but you can bet it will be in the same range. This probably won't affect beer sales at all, it will just cut down on the inconvenience of having to pour out your beer or chug it down before entering a line.

Sigh, soda does not dehydrate you. Sure it doesn't hydrate you as well as water, but there is simply not enough caffeine in soda to make you urinate out the amount of fluid you take in. As for the "salt content" well as you know from all those gatorade commercials there is more to sweat then just water and the major ion lost in sweat is you guessed it, sodium, the same stuff in soda. The net effect is that while a sports drink and water are much better at hydrating you/replacing salts soda is at worst a zero loss-zero gain or at best (very) marginally beneficial to replacing fluids and salt.

Alcohol on the other hand is something else entirely, its a much stronger diuretic then caffeine and is present in greater amounts even in watered down beer. It is absolutely the worst thing to have if you are dehydrated, so if you want to have a nice cold one, down a glass of water first, and when youre finished down another glass of water. Also, don't get in line for MF/Maverick right after you do that, because odds are youll be a little on the "full" side as you board the train 2 hours later ;).

The last thing CP needs is to have a bunch of drunk or half drunk teenagers fighting in line, especially a line with younger kids in it that could get injured for all we know......:(

Odds are it'll be drunk ADULTS.

Look, I've been there, had alcoholism in my family, didn't drink much in college until I was legal, blah blah blah... I get it, you have some negative perception of what alcohol is about or how people use it.

That said, the vast majority of alcohol is consumed by responsible adults who are not getting drunk. I actually have gotten drunk off of in-park beer before (because I can afford it with the millions I make from PointBuzz), and I can tell you that getting in line for anything was about as far from something I was interested in as possible. My bladder can't handle that. Beyond that, you wouldn't have known I was drunk.

Teenagers aren't going to be buying beer. Pete gets carded at Cedar Point, and he's like, what, 60? (;)) Get a grip. Don't impose your politics with irrational scenarios.

You know what I don't get? You can drink in line, but you cannot smoke in line? What's wrong with this picture? I mean yeah it will help with sales, but you have to think how many people might try to abuse the privilege? I just hope they sell the beer at the bars they have and not in the queues. :)

If you drink a beer in line, it has zero effect on others. If you smoke a cigarette in line, everyone around you has to inhale your smoke.

Why do people have such a hard time with this concept?

Alcohol - only the drinker uses the product.

Smoke - everyone in the area is forced to use the product whether they like it or not.

Personally, I hope they do sell beer in the lines, and bring back the beer truck that used to be under the Corkscrew.

Alcohol can affect everyone if the person has had a few too many, fights could break out for some stupid reason. It's not right.

The park is trying to say that familes rule but drinking in lines is not very family freindly in my opinion.

I have never seen that alcohol is a problem at CP. There is no rational reason why someone can't enjoy a beer or favorite adult beverage when they are out with the rest of the family.

If you can have drinks in other parts of the park, drinking in the queue line makes no difference. The no alcohol in the queue line rule was not in place years ago, it was a fairly recent rule. Probably lawyer driven and they realized how silly it was.

Well, if that's your reason for not allowing alcohol in the queues then we'll have to ban those crazy teenagers and their hormones too.
