I'm sure they won't allow people to be belligerent and drunk. It is possible to enjoy a beer (or 3) without getting drunk. The policy still stands that CP does not allow anyone who is visibly under the influence to ride the rides (even though it isn't always enforced). In 04 we enforced it several times on Millennium Force.

I'm sure I speak for a few around here when I say that you really need to work on punctuation, spelling and overall grammar. Before you get defensive, understand that expecting the proper use of these aspects of discussion isn't asking a lot, especially when you consider we're on a site where the primary focus is discussion.
Take a look:

All keyboards have a "Shift" key. Its right there on both the left and right side, and is typically wider than the other keys. You'll be able to find the "Shift" key by locating the keys with the word "Shift" on them.
Near the right-hand "Shift" key, you'll also find keys that allow you to insert various punctuation symbols, such as the period "." and comma ",".

Both Internet Explorer and Firefox have the ability to spellcheck your posts for you. Firefox does it automatically, which is nice, but if you prefer to use Internet Explorer, you can use ieSpell, which is a free add-on. Both of those tools are incredibly valuable tools, as even the most astute among us makes the occasional spelling mistake.
Yours, however, aren't mistakes. Much like your lack of punctuation, its simply a matter of you being too lazy or "1337" to bother yourself with such mundane things regarding effective communication.
Sorry if this offends - just trying to help (save my sanity, until Jeff adds an "ignore" feature).

For example, is there a limit to how many beverages someone can bring into the line with them?
The policy for alcohol sale has always been 1 ID, 1 drink... and the person whose ID it is must be present.
Now if you have a bottle of pepsi that was smuggled in from the outside with addatives. That you can drink in line. There is also the bottle of water that people drink that is not water.

Not if they had their coaster pants on, they could store a keg in there, right Josh?

I see two big problems with allowing alcohol in lines.
1 - spillage. Not only is it alcohol abuse, but I can see fights being started by it as well.
2 - underage accessibility. The park does a half-assed job right now with monitoring the line for jumping/smoking/various acts of dicketry (c). Adding in another one DOES NOT seem like a good idea.

By the way, DJ, I agree with your spelling and grammar post but in his defense, he did spell "behavior" correctly. :)

Bryan... If you were wearing Coaster Pants (tm), there would be a full service bar inside... simply unzip side zipper 34, and pull out 7 tap handles serving a variety of domestic and import selections.

JuggaLotus,
I completely agree on both accounts. I certainly don't want to have some drunk behind me not paying attention, walking into me and spilling a full beer down my back on a hot and humid summer day.
Also, in the past two years I have seen an increase of incidents in line. The worst being in 2006, while I was in line for Millennium. A kid (young teenager) was complaining about having to go to the bathroom and his mother told him to hold it or go in the bushes. The kid actually jumped over the railing, relieved himself in and came back in line. Since there is no one patrolling the lines, he got away with it and the family had a good laugh.
How sad is that?
Jason
Why do they call it common sense, when it's so infrequently used?
I wonder if this changes the rules from what i posted last year.

Again, you're referring to an Ohio law, not a CP rule. What would give CP the authority to change an Ohio law?
^^
What? How could you think allowing alcohol in the queues would change the fact that you can't bring outside food and beverages into the park?
Your answer is going to be no.

but with soda/pop you are not getting drunk at the same time
People like you seem to think that people only drink to get drunk, and one drink makes you drunk, which is an ignorant way to think of it (and ironic given your noted inability to capitalize or use punctuation).
I've had to chug countless times prior to entering a line, and it's certainly not convenient. Regardless, alcohol is so well controlled and expensive that it's not like people are getting blasted and taking a case of beer into a queue. It'll never happen. I can count the number of times I've seen stupid drunk people in the park on one hand in the last ten years, and I can almost guarantee those people weren't getting liquored up on in-park beverages.

Yes. Positives = more beer sales and less "problems".
I have countless times seen people in the queues with beer (somehow?), and I have sometimes seen people waiting outside the queues with beer chugging them down.
People in lines can already be a little rude so this may just increase the rudeness.
The negatives is an hour and a half line might be a little rough on the bladder.
I think they find that basically people cannot afford to get trashed at CP unless they feel like throwing down $6 a beer for Molson or Coors. How many people do you honestly find that intoxicated to the point where they are spilling beer and such at Cedar Point during the day?
I agree with Juggalotus, but honestly dude....people didn't give a rats ass where their empty (whatever). Frozen Banana wrappers, frozen icee cups, gatorade, water bottles, and etc.
Jeff has the other point I was thinking of...prices make it so that you can't realistically get blasted at Cedar Point unless you sneak in liquor.
I think this is a total attempt to increase revenue and I approve of it.
P.S. - minors had no problem getting alcohol before this. Cedar Point has quite a lot of adult supervision which provides a good deterrent for trouble.
haha I always liked a good "stoping." Back on topic, I definitely think this will help with their spending, because now people won't be hesitant to get a beer because they can drink it while in line. However I could definitely see this leading to more empty dispatches due to cleaning the "mess" from the boozers...
