AdPoints: Enjoy and support GTTP ad-free

Who buys POP Forums?

Anyway, if it wasn't for funny things ad-blockers do to my computer I would use it.

I also don't feel like paying money just to drop a few ads. I spend too much money on the internet already... ISP, hosting, games, etc. etc.

As you probably already suspected, Dave, I don't have any way to "talk" to Burst's server, so naturally it wouldn't be easy.

Jeff, While this forum may be worth paying for without the ads, I'll continue to put up with the ads. I love the ads and click on every one of them! ;)

Great... but I don't need all 3,000+ members to tell me they're not interested. Thanks anyway.

AdPoints is a really good idea, if you can afford it and have a credit card. And if you can't than click on the ads to give Jeff a little more help in paying for his sites like I do.

I clicked the POP Forums and Clique site ads, do those count?*smirk*

Ok, ok, I click most of themem when I come now that I enabled Burstnet again. (Sorry I couldn't resist!)

I am all signed up! Wow this is great.

GTTP looks weird without ads though... lol.

Well worth the $20.

Advertising pays a little but there are [to]problems. One is that there aren't enough ads being sold, and two that the ads are often pop-ups or cause seizures. That isn't cool.

personally? I will stick with ads. Its pretty darn stupid that one must come up with other ways of making money. Yeah, lets go and spend money to temporairly remove ads....not.

After the one that asks how many strips are on the American flag first appeared on my screen and can't be removed, I said enough is enough and signed up.

Those "other ways of making money" are keeping your ass entertained, Matt. Perhaps you should thank those who do buy instead of knocking it. You run a site that attempts to load spyware... I think you should be the last to criticize anyone for at least trying to break even while providing something people enjoy.

Im trying to read this post. But now why would I want a *Free* motorola T193. Dont I Always win. I mean every time it says If Flashing You've won, its always flashing. I Must be Lucky :).

If i was old ennough to get plastic, surley i would buy it. But until then, ill have to watch the ads.

If youre surfing for an hour or 2 w/o clicking off the pop-ups, it can crash your computer. Its happened to me before w/ 512MB ram and a 1GHZ Athlon. Now why would i go somewhere and buy something that crashes my computer?

My site doesn't load spyware...*******, I know that my site, along with TPOL, Experience the Point, Point Talk, Point World could NEVER compare to the great site of GTTP, Coasterbuzz, and Virtual Midway, but its our little site dedicated to our love of the point, just like yours. When you can accept the fact that maybe, just maybe, you don't rule the internet, then maybe you'll quit making crap up about other sites, including mine. Sorry that the smaller sites aren't good enough for you!

Yes, the site you had listed in your profile (before I booted you for posting naughty words) indeed prompted me to install Gator, which is spyware.

Have a nice day.

From the context of Matt's message, I take it he has issues with my site too? I'm not sure what I did, but at least being listed with CoasterBuzz and GTTP puts me in some good company.

For the majority of the sites he listed, I have no issues. I'll even mention Jeff Walker (Coasting Ohio) and Mike Bradley (Cedar Point on Lake Erie) as people who I think run good web sites.

As long as a fan follows the common sense rules that come with being a responsible web site owner, then that person should be able to do whatever he or she wants in order to share their love for Cedar Point.

Jeff, I was curious as to why you didn't choose to stick with the $20 a year you are utilizing over at CoasterBuzz. Also have you considered maybe a joint membership deal. Maybe charging $20 a year for one or $30 a year for both. Just a thought I had.

John

Another question: Does the AdPoints revenue go exclusively to GTTP, or does it support the whole deal, CB and your Wheaties?
