5 Car Train in Testing???

Has anyone seen a 5 car train complete the circuit? Does anyone have pictures of a 5 car train cresting the top? Is anyone else as worried about this?????

I'm not worried at all jazzman and you shouldnt be either. I've seen many 'a full-length trains crest the tophat with plenty of energy... both with and without water torsos.

So 'Fear Not' :)

Does any one know what the supports at the top are like the ones that make an upside down triangle. and also the big clump at the top. I do they all innvolve physics and with the learning I have picked up I know 5 cars will work.
no i'm not worried about it...

they all know what theyre doing, and I have no reason to get all excited over something like this unless something happens that prevents the ride from normal operation and/or effects the guests to the park. Just give them time....

and all they are doing right now is private testing anyways, does it really matter?

Sorry for this Raptorfn86. As much as I hate the people who correct everything, here I go. Yes, if 4 cars make it over then 5 cars will too. But the energy needed to launch the 5th car could be a problem. I'm sure it's not a problem in this case though. I mean, this isn't Six Flags here ;)

The Fast and the Fearless

I checked the bidding for the Auction and guess what I found?? According to the website, there will be "12 riders per train instead of 16. There are still 96 seats available, but now with 8 trains instead of 6" That means there will be 16 front seats available.

Check out the link: http://www.firelandsredcross.org/topthrilldragster/bid.html

You could always just ride Magnum instead where we will for sure have all six cars on our trains... ;)

Think of how this is going to screw up Dragster's station design. They're going to have rows of seats roped off all day. Not a huge deal, but I hope it's a temporary measure because it's going to hurt in the capacity department.

I thought six was a lot.

This is offtopic here, but was it mentioned already that the rider height's been set at 52"?

That's Ridiculous™

I guess you should worry now, according to that site, the ride may not have enough juice to clear a 5 car train ever!

Another slam on Six Flags. You people are ruthless.

ALL CLEAR. ENJOY YOUR RIDE.

Nice link OldCPer. Now is anyone else getting worried??? 25% less efficiency with 4 car trains is going to equate to some long lines....

1,500 an hour minus 25% (375) = 1125 an hour

Wow, this is very interesting. Like Mike said, this isn't supposed to be a Six Flags park. What happened to the planning? First Wicked Twister needing extra supports and now Dragster possibly coming with less juice than needed? Along with the problems with Xcelerator, Intamin is losing credablity faster than some of their rides go.

I'm sure intamin learned their lesson with Volcano: TBC. This coaster is definitely going to have enough juice to run at max capacity.

Hopefully this is just temporary. I mean the station design would be all messed up now and capacity is going to be down. I do not see what the big difference is between 4 cars and 5 cars. I thought that the lauching system was supposed to be way more powerful than what was truly going to be needed. Millennium did not open with all its trains. Maybe this is just how it will have to be for a little while until they have everything under control. I do not know the figures or anything but maybe to "break in the coaster and the operators" is was better for capacity, the lauching system, and the computers to have one less car than one less train.
We have to remember, this is not just a clone of some other ride. Yes it may be similar to Xcellerator, but it is a NEW ride with NEW problems which no park has ever experienced before. I'm sure Cedar Point is just as worried about capacity, if not more so than we are. They will get things figured out, and even if they don't it's not the end of the world. TTD will still have a better theoretical capacity than WT, which I think moves pretty quickly. I'm sure they will figure things out this summer. A ride with so many new features has to have a glitch every now and then, but I have faith that Cedar Point's amazing crews are on top of it and will fix it faster than most of us could ever do. For now, let's just enjoy the fact that it will be open, enjoy our new ride and let Cedar Point fix it, b/c us worrying about it certainly isn't going to help the situation. :)

Is Spam meat?

No still 6 trains! They are just going to consider the 2nd run of the first two trains thier first run for the people in the contest! Basically the last 24 people get screwed!

Not enough juice to get the hole thing over with 5 trains?? Sounds like the same problem PKD had with Hypersonic. But that was S&S, but similar if not exact type launch.

It would be silly for the people on the last 2 trains to be upset considering thousands of people will have ridden it the day before for basket day!
