It's official, Dragster H2O will open at Soak City this summer.

When attractions get new paint, they typically paint everything (including the supports).

In other news, I suggested "Dragster: 2" and "Dragster, Too" as my racer slide names, but alas, they weren't chosen. ;)

Haha, such a terrible name. I only wish I cared enough to complain about it but Soak City just doesn't interest me. The paint looks nice though...

I think it makes no sense, its not like its a water coaster or some REALLY tall slide. There is no connection between dragster and the mat racer. O well, I suggested Cedar Falls.

How does it not make any sense? The attraction is a racing water slide and top fuels do race.

True but I think that's a better name for a water coaster or something like that.

I don't care what the name is. Dragster H2O is alright. It's better then Speed Slides or Matt Racer, or Dueling Racing Slide.

Imagine your favorite tv show. You've been through it all. The ups, the downs, the crazy coincidences and then bang! They tell you what it's all about. Would you be happy? Does it make sense? How come it all ended in a church? - Joker

I think what Maverick00 is saying is that tying a standard nothing-special-about-em matt racer water slide complex to their tallest and fastest roller coaster makes no sense. You can say that them being 'racers' gives them somewhat of a connection to drag racers but we all know it's their coaster that they (and the general public) will associate the name with, not drag racing.

IMO, Soak City is bland and much in need of a facelift. Kalahari and Castaway Bay have a much more pleasing atmosphere. Aesthetically, Soak City is boring.

Getting even remotely emotional about the name of a water slide makes no sense.

To me, at least.

It was an online contest. Somebody won. Great.

Promoter of fog.

And how many people call water slides by their names? Other than "Erie Falls" I didn't know they even gave them names.

I just wish I had entered a name for the "contest" even though I like Dragster H2O.

I always just say the color, and sometimes the type, of the slides. I could careless about the names.

I know this would never happen, but take out Soak City. I don't rememeber a time seeing it busy, even on a warm summer day. How much are they really making from it each year? Could adding onto the main park bring in enough money to equal or surpass the income that Soak City brings in?

Soak City's existence brings in money from more than just the admissions. It is a way to get the guests to stay longer at the resorts, which means they're more likely to spend more on food, drinks, souvenirs, etc. And as mentioned before about competing for vacation dollars, it offers more variety to the consumer which helps bring people that could choose somewhere else altogether that have that variety. It is a good place for the entire family as well. I wouldn't expect the removal of it anytime soon...or ever, really.

I remember around 2005 Dick K. was thinking to build a Casino around there, but the Casinos in Ohio didn't approved till 2009. I would like to see one in the back. They would have to removed part of the Hotel, and think to see more guest at each Park in SOAK CITY and CEDAR POINT!! If they don't put the 5th Casino in around the Park. In a few Yrs the Indoor Water Park will be there. It Not be closer to CEDAR POINT!!

^What? That's tough to read.

I was typing about the Casinos in Ohio. I think Dick K. talked about a CASINO to be in the Back in 2005. Then there would have more guest in SOAK CITY and CEDAR POINT. The Casinos in Ohio didn't approved till 2009.

I understood what you were trying to say, it just didn't make very much sense with the broken English.

That is very hard to read. But I don't think the ideas you mention make much sense. I don't think CP would ever add a casino. Especially not a Breakers or Sandcastle(I think thats what you mean by in the back).

Actually I think CP would love to build a casino. I seem to remember that one of the reason's Cedar Fair opposed the new bill allowing casinos was because they would not be able to build one themselves.

If they did build one though I don't think it would be on point. I can see them building one off point, possibly connecting to Castaway Bay, or using that land next to Breakers Express. That way it can be open year round.

As opposed as people are on a moral level to casinos I think Sandusky would do great if they had one. It would really promote the year round business in the city as well as bringing much needed income, taxes, and jobs to the area. There are plenty of great buildings downtown that could be renovated into a nice casino.

Of course if it was allowed Kalahari would probably be the first one to step up LOL.

I think a casino connected to Castaway Bay would be great for Cedar Fair and the city of Sandysky.
