2006 Golden Ticket Awards...

I was very surprised by the wood coaster decisions. I haven't been on Thunderhead, so I can't make an informed decision on that ride, but the way the reviews were going for The Voyage, I thought it was a lock for #1.

Does anyone else find it "odd" that Mean Streak wasn't even included on their top 10 wood list? ;) Hell, it wasn't even in the top 50! Just goes to show what the "real" award voters think of the ride. Hey, at least Blue Streak made the top 50.

Mean Streak didn't make top 50? WTF I love that ride! (Even though it's rough as hell)

It's not even rough compared to others.

MF is at a good place. It isn't even close to No.1 on my list and the SM at NE is better. I am suprised that US:IOA is at 4th. In many ways that place is better then CP.

101 on Magnum and counting...

I find it amazing how Magnum still beats out the newer coasters and makes the top 3 while it's in it's 18th year of operation. It just goes to show what a great ride it is and what a great investment it was for Cedar Point.

Dragsters points are messed up the points put it in 8th but the list puts it 10th, so I dunno. But I am upset about Holidays Worlds staff award, they weren't very nice at all. I had agirl yelling at us because we were waiting outside the line for voyage when it was broken down and she said that we couldn't wait there.

Cedar Point and MGM tied for best outdoor night production? Granted it's tied for fourth, but did Summer Spectacular ever place?

Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004

The list is somewhat accurate, because I see all of my favorite coasters on the list except for Batman at MM an SFGAm.
However the order is jumbled, and makes no sense as to why one year a coaster is rated at #3 then shoots down to #10.

A coaster should be put in a spot and not change unless something happens to the ride, or a newer one is better.

All my life I've been an obese man trapped inside a fat man's body

Well, people can vote for different rides each year...

SteelRaptor, that makes absolutely no sense. The ratings are based on votes submitted by coaster enthusiasts. Amusement Today doesn't rank them themselves.

2005/2006: Cedar Point - Millennium Force
2007/2008/2009: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Speedway
2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator

Knoebels got best food.

Glad to see Thunderhead up there. Great ride. I suspect it is a more appealing ride to more people then The Voyage, which is a little too much for some people.

S:ROS belongs there. Heck, I'd put Magnum above MF, but that's just me.

Congrats again, CP!

To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them"

Here is the blog entry about it.

I am so incredibly pissed that el toro isnt #1! Nothing out there compares even though I havent been on Voyage.

Kingda Ka is a different ride experience than TTD. It's rough...the launch goes in "spurts" (less intense, IMO)...OTSR's...and it has the unfortunate reality of being located in SFGAdv.

I have never been on S:ROS...what exactly makes it better than MF? I took a few virtual POV rides and the only guess I have would be airtime.

Promoter of fog.

Yeah! Thunderhead wins again!

Bow down, Bow down before the power of Santa, or be crushed, be crushed by----- his Jolly boots of Doom.

Coming Soon! Star Wars episode 7- The Fallen Hero
episode 8- The Republic in Crisis
episode 9- Victory of the Force

I think if a coaster kills people, it should be disqualified from winning any awards. Therefore, MF is still number one!! :)

I've been on SM:ROS and it isn't even in my top 10, not even close to MF, but i still think MF is boring, sorry guys. My fav steel is Raging Bull, backseat with some breathing room in your seat.

I love Raging bull also, but it's no MF. But it's in my top 5 easy.

I actually thought Raging Bull was quite boring and forceless. I'm still bummed that Deja Vu or Scream wasn't on the list- two of my favorites. I did thoroughly enjoy Goliath at SFoG though.
