2003: Place Your Bets

My sources, originally divided on the issue, have now all said the same exact thing. I know few specifics, but I have a generally decent idea as to what to expect.

For those wanting to know, my "sources" stink. No one ever bothers to ask. I am going to try to revolutionize this forum by *gasp* citing my sources. lol.

1. A blue tag in marketing.

2. An unmentionable silver tag friend.

3. An unmentionable supervisor from an unmentionable field with a double blue tag.

O.k.--perhaps this still sounds spurious, but I feel compelled not to say anything in case I am wrong because I would feel like a huge loser if I had lame sources. :-)

I will say I am pretty sure it is going to be launched.

Well, if you are not making stuff up than you have screwed the source in Marketing. Seeing as they only have one or two seasonals in marketing you've hosed 'em.

Silver Tags, for the most part, don't know what the new attraction is going to be until very near the time it is announced. The exception being those people in Operations, for obvious reasons and perhaps in Marketing/Pr again for obvious reasons.

Now, I have known some Silvertags in Ops in the past who have had big mouths so the potential for someone there to be a source is not out of the realm of possibility.

The blue in marketing talks to another person who talks to me as verbatim as possible, but I am still very skeptical.

I guess I've changed my mind a little bit. I know that the ride will be over 230 ft. and be very fast. Maybe over 90mph or something. I still think it will be twisty and turny, and have lots of airtime and hills. I just hope that it will be long enough to host 3 or more trains (depending on train length) so lines won't be horrible.

If you like riding Wicked Twister in the back, does that mean you like to get screwed in the rear? ;)
I'm thinking Intamin rocket coaster in the 300-350ft range...

Ideally, after the tophat it would have some airtime hills and a twisted layout. The thought of a launched giga-twister is quite a nice one...:)

SFNE Superman's twisted ending comes to mind in particular.

I already built the ride. Here is what i got.

You're a freak Joe...in every sense of the word. :) Seriously though, did you max out the height on NoLimits? :)

July 11th: Korn, Puddle of Mudd, and Deadsy

Naw, No Limits can get near 500 feet, I still have 80 feet to play with ;). With a track 20 feet of the ground and a launch of 114 MPH it makes it over easily. The track length is relatively short at 4500 feet with 2 over banks and a cammelback.

I can dream can't I? ;)

Sure, but that huge tophat support is just sick! :)

Heh, it's more constructive than analyzing Jeff's quotes.... ;)

My bet is in the unsaid words of CP to Six Flags. "Buh Bye."

My bet is a dueling 400ft+ 110mph rocket coaster. The dueling part may be farfetched, but it would solve capacity problems. Also, who could think of a better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of CP's most popular coaster, which is also thier 1st one to get the hight and speed records they love so much.
Gemini?
Or celebrate Ohio's bicentennital...

I went to the park Aug. 16th and was asking alot of the workers what they are building in "Area 51". I asked a guy that actually looked important, and all he said he could tell me is that it is big. Then I asked a worker on the Gemini, and he told me that they are building a 410 ft. roller coaster that goes 100 mph, and it goes straight up, and straight down. He seemed pretty stupid, because I asked him if it was like Knott's Xcellerater or Magic Mountain's Superman: The Escape, and he said he didn't know. I'm not too sure if he was telling the truth, because he just told me without hesitation, and I thought it's supposed to be a secret.
I think an Intamin coaster, that has the up down hill like the S&S TA2K

Now, Cedar Point is "Bulding for the future."
Coincidence?
