MF 2001 - ???????
I'm going tomorrow and buying six passes (big family). I wish they gave a volume discount.... I hope tomorrow isn't busy. I made the mistake of buying the passes on opening day last year. Painful...I felt like I was standing in the MF line. I always seem to get behind an idiot that doesn't understand the system. It is not like a Ph.D. is required. The people in front of us last year swore they bought the passes at the end of last season and nobody gave them anything. It took forever to get them out of line.
It does sound like it is a lot better based on some of the posts that people have been posting.

We will be there every weekend this season. Hope to see people there....

Jeff-
Got mine yesterday. 21st year, I believe.

What's the rationale for the "Season Passes are only good once a day, get your hand stamped" business? Doesn't seem to make any sense to me, unless they intend not to allow you to visit Soak City and CP in the same day.

And while I like the Joe Cool club portability of the parking pass, there's nothing "cool" about apparently having to _stop_ at the toll booths to pull out and show your pass.

Both seem a bit strange.

Western Cruiser: I do believe the "season passes are only good once a day" thing was to eliminate people possibly handing their passes to someone outside a gate so they could get in. I was wondering too if maybe it throws the attendance off too? (Although it seems to me that the computer would know that person had already been counted) I always got my hand stamped anyway so it is no big issue for me, however I do know people who leave park 2-3x (to go to car to eat, relax, what ever) who used their pass every time to get back in. Im wondering if CP is going to have more than 1 season pass entrance this year?

If I cant ride it, rope it, pull a trailer behind it, then I dont want it!! Cowgirl up!!
Finally...I Have Gotten My 2001 Season Pass (a little WWF/ Rock humor there)...Mine Is The Orange 2001 Regular Season Pass With A Mug Shot Of Me...We Only Waited in line about 45 minutes, which was not to bad considering the CP lady outside told us that she expects crowds of up to 3 hours on Opening Day! I was VERY Excited to see Raptor..it looks AWESOME! Looks like a neon green highlighter, and I would swear it looks like it will glow in the dark....overall, it was very fun and exciting to Finally get a Season Pass...

see y'all Sunday :)
I was able to get out to Sandusky and get my season pass on Friday. We arrived at about 11:30 AM and the people working there were nice enough to let us in early. We didn't have to wait at all. It was a little depressing, though, to see Raptor, MF,...etc. and not be able to ride! However I am very happy that I will not have to wait in the long lines on opening day! I found the whole season pass redemption process to go very smoothly, and it barely took 10 minutes for my husband and I both. Now I can't wait for Sunday!!!
We got ours yesterday. We waited about an hour. I do like the process this year. I think the only way they could improve it would be to put up signs saying which line is for what. Other than that everything went smooth. The people were really friendly. It's kind of strange when the park is really silent......

Jeff-
I noticed that too, Jeff...plus it was VERY strange going to the park, and not being able to ride :)

Got mine yesterday (4/29). Waited about 1.5 to get into the building! Took five minutes after that. The only problem with the new system is that four cameras just doesn't cut it. The lines stretched halfway across the ticket booth plaza. I'd hate to see what the lines will be like next weekend :)

On the other hand, it hurts to see Magnum, Raptor, Blue Streak, and MF cycling when driving up the causeway, knowing that you can't ride :(

WAIT! People are waiting hours in line to redeem their passes before the season like CP suggest? I think CP is lying! In Previous years I had always redeemed my pass after the season started and hardly ever had any wait. Last year was no exception. I came around noon of the first week and waited ZERO minutes in line. I just filed out the forms, got my picture taken and waited the five minutes for the lamentation process

Is this the waits this year for preseason pass redemption normal, or are the line just long this year?

If this is the case I may just wait one more day and go Monday to get my pass redeemed. On top of that I could ride coasters when I go to get it. :)

I'm going to get my pass opening day. Will they process passes early? If so, what time do they start? I've been trying to find the answer myself, but figure you all would be quicker.

thanks.

Got mine... 6 mins total.. that included me filling out the form.

They had 3 cameras running.. In.. out.. and off to dinner.. (which went very well thank you for asking, she decided on TGI Fridays, I would have perfered Damon's over in Battery Park but ohh well)

Park was dead quiet... blue train was stopped on MF about 2/3 the way up.. Sky Ride was running.. and Raptor looks SOOOO nice.. All painted except the base of the lift his and halfway down the lift hill.

P.S. Saw the modifications to MF.. exactly where I thought they would be.

I got my pass over this past weekend (4/28/01) they still have a lot of work to do.
i am getting my pass today! My cousin's looks really cool. they look like drivers licsenses. I heard that u can get into all the other parks that belong to cedarpoint too! I hope to go to cedar fair and valley fair this summer!
Cedar Fair is not a park, but a company that owns and operates Cedar Point, ValleyFair, Knott's Berry Farm, Dorney Park, and Worlds of Fun. You can get into any of those parks with your Cedar Point season pass.
Got Mine Today, waited about 10 minutes :). All coasters that I could see were cycling at full tilt except Millennium Force. They were even playing that annoying music inside the park! It was very weird.

I know its tough to judge how smooth a coaster is just by looking at it, but I watched Blue Streak for a while and it seems to be more quite and not rattle around as much as I recalled last year. Of course the train was empty so that could make a difference.
I got my pass the other day and I really really like them. I waited no more than 10 minutes.

Hey everyone! I went and got my pass yesterday (5/4) with my girlfriend. Waited just under an hour to get them, but really wasn't too bad of a wait. Raptor does look great from afar, but I still have to see it up close. Anyways, I hope to see you all on Sunday morning! Happy Coastering!
