Has anyone gotten their pass yet? I was curious to see how they look and if the office is any different! I won't be going until next wednesday.

I hope they are better than the past ones.. I just got my SF pass the other day, and even though I look like a criminal in it.. I like the digital pics better than the way CP has been doign it.
Probably heading up Monday to get mine at CP...

MF 2001 - ???????
Hi all first post here. Just got my pass yesterday and yes they are not the same as last year. They are similar to an Ohio drivers license in that they are digital pictures on plastic. No more lamination!! Also at least the combo pass is a bright blue with the Joe Cool symbol in the corner. Mine has a large P on it for parking to be shown at the parking gate. Hope this gives you an idea.
Thank god!!!! now the question arrises.. are we allowed to punch holes in them so we can chain all our passes together? I tend to leave mine in my car and all my parks on a single lanyard. Just take the one I need off the lanyard when I get to said park.
I have enough plastic cards in my wallet.. Drivers License.. Visa.. Northwest Frequent Flyers.. Golden Tee Fore Godl Players club... etc.....

Good news there too. They will ask you if you want them to punch a hole in it for you to put around your neck.
I am getting my pass Saturday. I am gald to find out the passes are better this year...

The passes definitely are an improvement, regular passes are orange and white and then may also have the 'P' for parking and the Joe Cool symbol. A lovely color mug on front, your name and bar code. Also, for some reason the back has a smaller B&W mug, presumably so it's easier for somebody to glance at it as they scan it.
They still don't move people through any better, there are four stations for photos. The Season Pass Center is just not big enough.

That has always been a problem... SFWOA has 8 stations this year...

I got my pass first thing tuesday. I am impressed with the new passes. Being computerized,I didn't expect much. The picture is actually better than the old photos.
CT-Magnum & MF Man is correct. They do ask if you want a hole punched in it.Being new this year,I'm sure they will find a way to speed it up. I asked a guy if it was the system used for employee badges last year. He said basically the same, with some upgrades. I think it would be fun if you could draw on the screen and add enhancements to someones pic! LOL. He told me they probably could and laughed.
I think a big slowdown is they have to type all the info in. Maybe that is where they can eliminate time in the future. I wonder why they don't use the Visiter Center. They did years ago. Plenty of room in there.
One step closer to riding!!!

Red Garter, that's a great idea. I never thought of putting all of my passes together like that. I may have to "borrow" your idea this year!

I don't know if this would work, but what about making the season pass applications using those "bubble" type sheets. It might be a bit tricky for some people to figure out how to fill them out and that's the only drawback I could see. Then they could just whip the bubble sheets through a reader and it would avoid the time-consuming task of typing every person's information in manually. Just a thought since season pass processing capacity is one place which CP seems to have problems.

PKI has the most efficient pass processing, period, bar none, give them the prize. If someone from Cedar Point hasn't been down there to check it out, they will never know the best way to do the passes.
In fact, PKI even improved the process this year, because the actual data entry happens at some point after you have your pass. This year, you fill out the form, and pay the cashier. The cashier staples bar codes to the form and you head into the theater to get your photo at one of 25 stations. You never stop moving. The only data entry that happens is the kid putting your name into the system so it appears on your card. They put the form down and enter the rest at some point much later.
I kid you not when I say that Steph and I got through there before Brandon got through the regular gates with a daily admission.

I had my pass processed yesterday on a spur of the moment trip and it went very smoothly. I must say it's odd at first to see the new design, as I am so used to the old, laminated passes. But they look nice to me and I didn't miss waiting fifteen minutes just for the lamination process to take place. Having the parking pass on the actual season pass will be a nice feature as well. I still have my old 2000 sticker on my Jeep and I don't plan on removing it at any point. It can stay there until it all eventually wears away :o)

Same thing at SFWOA this year Jeff... they enter your name so it appears on teh card.. and enter the rest of the data later...
I was in the door.. and out with card in hand in less than 5 mins.. granted it was dead... but they were only using 2 of the 8 stations...

Basically they are using the same system for passes as they do for the ID/nametags for employees. A much better and more sturdy design opposed to the polaroid and laminate versions of the past. 2 years ago was the first time they used the plastic cards for employees.

Let me 1st say here man I forgot what a long drive it is to CP and back! Well worth it though since now my daughter and I are now proud owners of our '01 season passes, and my truck the proud owner of the '01 parking pass. Seeing CP was AWESOME! Raptor looks fabulous with the paint job which still isnt done btw. We managed to sneak onto the midway so I took some pics of them painting Raptor. Also they are redoing the stucco on the front entrance so there was a bunch of shirtless construction workers there, I managed to go back there to "inspect" 2x and even snuck a pic of them "working" too ;)
Getting the passes didnt take too long, alot of clueless people there with tons of questions. The season passes look almost identical to the back of my employee ID from last season. There were 4 "windows" open and 2 picture taking computers. Total time spent getting passes and sticker for truck maybe 20 minutes. (Hint-set up for the parking sticker BEFORE the passes so you dont hae to wait for them to put sticker on) We drove down to Mean Streak which was running, (I made the comment even the train was complaining it was too rough :)) and I managed no one behind me on way back so took a pic of MF's hill and then heard a sound and knew exactly what it was-the lift letting go-yellow train - daughter got pic of it full of those water dummies going down hill. I stuck my head out and screamed like a Banshee for the dummies-
thankfully no one was around!! Even after PKI last weekend I am still siked for CP...can not wait to ride Raptor!! My truck made a big hit in the parking lot-someone said "man someone likes CP" I've added something CPish to my windshield too.
I think next week on the way to CP we'll play the game "spot the roadkill first" or "what WAS that?". It is definitely Spring-as if the 10000 splattered bugs all over the front of my truck wasnt proof enough! UCKY!!
So I am set for this season
let the coastering begin!!!
(sorry this was so darn long-can you tell Im siked?)
