10 Things that would make Cedar Point better.

(Gasps)

Hey! What about an indoor themed wet dark ride a la IOA's Jurassic park themed to the Peanuts boating cartoon?

It could have Shoot-the chutes 4 across seating to maximize capacity. Instead of one huge lift, it could have several shorter lifts and kicker tires leading into troughs while you view the characters, story, etc.

Since it's a family/kiddie themed ride, it hardly needs mind-blowing effects--Sally would be more than adequate for the job. The enclosed drop wouldn't need to be (shouldn't be?) more than 40 - 50 feet anyway.

So there you have it! A high-capacity dark ride with mimimal vandalism risk that hits everybody right in the bullseye. C'mon CP--do it. Do it.

I totally agree for the new lap bars for Maggie, I do get hurt on her sometimes, but I would love to see Cedar Point invest in a giant Huss Frisbee ride, just like Delirium at Paramounts Kings Island. They need more flat rides then coasters. :)

Leave Maggie's lapbars alone. That ride has some of the best air because of the restraints having the ability to be a little loose.

For the people who want Mantis to be a floorless, you have to understand that the elements were designed for riders that are in the standing position. If you make it a floorless, the excitement factor goes way down because the intensity just isn't there. I've actually sat down during the ride and it was rather boring.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this. Parking garages. Perhaps not for the main parking lot yet, but for the resort guests. They could construct a large parking garage in the Breaker's parking lot, and build another wing with the freed up space.

The Matrix: Reloaded!

yeah, at ioa they had those and they could fit a lot of cars in them. cp should definently consider that in the future if they start to run out of room for roller coasters. i just hope they don't make a mistake and send a coaster out into the parking lot. those multi level parking garages would be great for the park. and i know this is pretty far fetched, but they should make a parking lot below a camping ground. that would get a lot of parking space while still keeping the nighttime stars open for the campers.

Yes, A parking garage would open up alot of space. The back lot near Maggie and Gemini is huge, but relitivly few cars park back there. It would open up a huge amount of space. Eventually though (15-20 yrs), the front lot may need to be replaced by a garage to free up some extra space.

Parking garages are expensive. They'd have to be able to justify the cost.

Good call, Tank. I've often wondered why you can't get a good Lake Erie perch sandwich in the park. You think it'd be a given.

Good call on the Huss rides, shwilson24 (#8 on the list). Personally, I don't travel to CP to ride anything other than the coasters but I bet there's a lot of people who would appreciate a flat ride update. The new Huss & Mondial giant rides are surprisingly fun, with the giant pendulum being my favourite.

What about a 300 ft giant pendulum! Just a little filler ride while CP plans their next woodie.....

The one thing CP needs that im surprised no one has ssaid this yet.......clocks! there are NO clocks at Cedar Point. And i really dont see the reasoning behind this. I mean this isnt Los Vegas, Disney has clocks all over the place.
The problem with the parking garage is everyone trying to get out of it at once. Imagine it on a day like the 4th.

But then again, they could always build the highest capacity parking garage in the world:)

From a design perspective, it's possible to design parking structures with high capacity egress. It boils down to the way each floor is collected and brought to the exterior. If enough egress points are included in the designs and the signage is clear and accurate, they could empty the garage relatively quickly. Besides, there is still quite the backup when you leave the main lot, so it wouldn't be to different than a garage.

On the other hand, parking garages do tend to be less attractive as far as buildings go and it's hard to find a client willing to spend money on such a utitlitarian building. It could potentially block the impressive view of the park from the Chaussee and the Causway, too. I'm sure the residnets whose properties abutt the Cedar Point parking lot would prefer their view to the west over the parking lot not to be blocked by large parking structures. I know many of these homes are owned by CP bigwigs, but they'll still want to see the sun after 5pm in the summer.

Put a 7 story garge on the back parking lot. Build a HUGE airtime woodie on the current overflow lot.
The major theme parks that had space problems (Disneyland and Universal Orlando) used parking garages with great sucess to replace the old lots. IOA and Cali. Adventure are both on the old parking lots of their sister parks.

If Disney or Universal (with their huge crowds) can make parking garages work, Im sure CP can.

hey i just got back from my vacation, i went to pki during it, and man cp needs a huss ride, i rode delirium (sp) like 5 times and that is one amazing ride, it was great, it would be a great addition to cps line up of amazing rides, especially if it was a huge version of the ride, although it doest have to be big because pki's was big enough to be sweet, that would go goood right by where ocean motion is, or right on mille island...

agreed. Myself and Voodoo were talking the other day about the park's flat rides, initially I said that CP lacked in flat rides, but then realized they lacked in exciting flat rides, a Land of the Giants is needed, and there are so many places where one could go...

That is a great idea. I really miss those signs. The Wild Cat sign was one of my favorites. It was so ugly! I also liked the one in front of the Blue Streak. That guy was hot. Anyways, whatever happened to those signs? Are they in storage somewhere? I say we start a movement to bring them back. Just imagine the possibilities for Dragster...
